I use baby oil gel with my pencil crayons (primas) and I find that I have good results. Never used Gamsol but we live in a small apartment so I'm worried about ventilation and storage of the Gamsol.

I'll look for that as well. I'm assuming in the baby isle. I didn't know they had baby oil gel. I'm really out of the loop. Thanks I'm always looking for something new.

No...you're not imagining it...the toxocity is still there, just the odor was removed. The non-smell stuff is really more dangerous to use cause it doesn't smell! A yucky smell is an excellent warning that certain restrictions apply, and the manufacturer's directions much be followed when using the product.

I was at Walmart tonight (in Canada) and could not find any goo gone pens. Has anyone found any in a Walmart in Canada? If you have, what section of the store are they in. They had goo gone in the paint section but no pens. I bought some Prismacolor pencils tonight and really want to give this a try. I have to get some blending stumps and will probably get the ones at M's (made in China). I too was wondering if I needed the ones made in Taiwan but will try these first since I can buy them here. Anyone else have an opinion on the blending stumps?

The goo gone pens at Walmart are located on the aisle with silver cleaning products, wood polish, countertop polish and other odd ball products that relate to housecleaning. It was on the top shelf at our Walmart and sort of mushed in with other small items. I spotted it by accident when I was looking for something else, or I would never have found it!

I tried the baby oil jel and it works beautifully. You only need such a tiny
little dab.

Thanks Boss - now I can't wait until tomorrow to get back there and find it - and buy the blending stumps because I can't color without those. Any other opinions about the blending stumps - Made in China vs Made in Taiwan? I am curious to know if those that have used them think there is a difference.

Ok how do you use the baby oil gel and doesnt it go through the paper? I have some stumps but still cant find anything to blend well... I also need to get a heavy duty nail file for the stumps.

Stumps for blending the Gamsol -- I really really recommend using stumps from Taiwan and not China. The ones from China seem to be harder, and did not blend that well at all for me. I was initially really disappointed with Gamsol. I'd watched a demo at a stamp show, and was really psyched to try the Gamsol/stump technique. The stumps they sold at the show were the China ones. It didn't work at all, or very little. I tried all different brands of colored pencils, types of paper, etc. -- nothing. Then I read about using a stump from Taiwan. MAGIC! Loved it. I haven't tried the Goo Gone yet, or the baby oil gel. Will try them both when I run out of the Gamsol.

I just ordered mine from Inky Antics. I also ordered their Gamsol... figured I might as well stop messing around with substitutes.

I think I found them at Michael's, although they only had the China stumps there last time I checked.

What are the blender stumps called, or is that their name? Are they in the fine art section and used for charcoal blending?

Ooh, brand name...unfortunately, I was so efficient in my overhaul of my studio recently, that I removed the blending stumps from their package and threw it away. I did find them in the fine art section, near the colored pencils. The ones I picked up came in a pack of 4 in different sizes. The stumps and the package were clearly marked in both cases as to which country they were made in.

I know Hobby Lobby carries the "made in Taiwan" blending stumps. My Micheals only carries the China ones. They are located in the drawing section of the store.
