Glimmer overfoiling

Just purchased the Glimmer machine. Having some difficulty with overfoiling around the special dies- not the edges but around etched areas. I use a Big Shot machine. Any ideas to help?

If you're overfoiling, it is usually a matter of too much pressure - try adjusting your shims or the thickness of your cardstock and see if that helps. If it's not a lot, you can use a sand eraser to remove the excess.

Make sure you are not cutting the foil too large. The foil should be just slightly larger than the die. And I do agree completely with Dina, the amount of pressure is very important to get a good foiling. Too much pressure will sink the die into the paper and cause the foil to indent too far. A Mono sand eraser is your best friend for foiling.

What is this machine you speak of? Curious of course!

Here's a link to the Spellbinders glimmer machine. Gemini has one called Foil press, also.
