For a time Jennifer McGuire was touting the use of fun foam to layer cardstock and diecuts on cards. I don't watch all her videos, but it seems to me she stopped using it and switched to multiple thickness of cardstock or double stick foam tape. Does it not stay adhered well? I didn't think double stick tape held well, but is liquid adhesive a problem too?
I’ve used fun foam with liquid glue for years. Not aware of any problem.
I think I remember seeing in a video Jennifer saying she would be using more cardstock scraps rather than using fun foam. Maybe it’s just personal preference?

I think it's because multilayer cardstock is more solid. Fun foam can get squished in the mail more easily, and if the diecut is intricate, mailing can distort/dent the diecut/cardface. I have found with small diecuts, multiple layers of scrap cardstock is quite solid feeling and looks more like a chipboard cutout. I save all cardstock weight backer and postcards to use for layering now. It's also hard to cut out diecuts in fun foam sometimes - gets squished and distorted (it SHOULD bounce back, but sometimes... )
I still have fun foam. One of my other favorite video crafters (besides Jennifer McGuire) is Tina Smith (Cards and Coffee Time) and she uses LOTS of fun foam. Check our her videos - she's still pretty happy with using it.

Her reasons for switching are for ecological reasons, not because of the quality of the product. Same reason I wont use those tiny glue tubes, I'm trying to eliminate my plastic footprint on the planet.

I have seen Jennifer use multiple, stacking die cuts, too. Her previous examples used fun foam for panels and I find that works the best. For words or some other detailed cut I think I would not use foam....just too hard to glue together and may shift during the squashing process of mailing.
I have a multicolor stack of fun foam that came in a package of 5x7 sheets which I still use to pop up large die cut images. If I use it for die cut smaller images I run it through my BigShot once and remove to avoid getting double cut lines. I don't know about you but I get tired of cutting one image multiple times to have pieces to stack up under one image.

Glad to know the foam is working well for you all. I especially like it for building cardstock layers on a card, but I agree the smaller die work is not so appropriate for foam.
And I won't use double-sided tape. After I make a card I initially clip it up to display in my room until enough accumulate to put into plastic sleeves and file away. There have been a number of times a foam sheet layer mounted with double-sided tape has fallen on the floor. Also, there have often been corners curling. At least I found out before the card went into the mail. (ATG tape does not do well sticking to watercolor paper either.) None of you reported any problem with liquid adhesive, and that (Bearly Art) has become my preferred adhesive.
After Jennifer McGuire's foam videos, I bought a lot of foam in various colors, but lately I'd been afraid to use it. The colors aren't really essential; a color alcohol marker works great around the white foam edges. Glad to put it back into use! Thanks.

I use (liquid) glue for foam and watercolor paper too. Just a little bit goes a long way.
I use Sook Wang (aka Scor Tape) to attach foam - is that what you're referring to when you say it doesn't last?
Yes, I have double-sided tape widths up to 5"; so the foam was sufficiently taped. Still, it did not hold well. I live in a dry environment, which may also come into play. I'm guessing that the foam is too porous to adhere well or maybe there are problem chemicals in it, but I can't even recall which medium the tape stayed stuck to when it came loose: foam or cardstock. I didn't use ATG because i 1/4" width wouldn't cover enough of the surface.
As I recall JM started with the foam as a base for full layers because she said it would stay more even through the mail. As far as I know she was always doing CS layers for sentiments and delicates. She really liked the foam.
I have not been watching lately so I don't know if she stopped the fun foam. An application I saw recently that I liked was for shaker walls if you can die cut it You have to do a couple layers but it wont have the sticky sides that d/s foam strips do. Might be one way to use it up if one wanted to.
