Absolutely! If you're going to adhere it to the cards, I'd suggest a product like Ken Oliver's Stick It - you apply it before you die cut, and it works wonderfully. I put off trying it and now that I have it I'm wondering why I waited!
The outline die would be great for an inlay technique too, cutting the die out of the card panel and another piece of paper (or several), replacing the outline piece into the panel with adhesive behind, and then piecing together the insides of the ornaments with different colored papers. Hope that makes sense if you're not familiar with the technique - we have a tutorial, but it's a little more complex with overlapping shapes.

Oh Dina! I am having so much fun with this one! I'm using two inch wide double sticky tape, which I already had on hand, to apply to the back of the cardstock. I place the die on the front of the cardstock along with a piece of 'junk' cardstock behind the unveiled tape and it is working very well. Thanks again for introducing this technique to me. {{{{{Dina}}}}}

Could you also add colour using the "waste" cut as a stencil? Die cut the shape, then put the waste piece on your cardstock and sponge on ink then line up the die cut shape over the coloured bit. That makes sense in my head - hope it makes sense here too!

There is one piece of waste, as you put It, that I cut backwards and it wasn't set straight which I've been wondering what to do with. Your suggestion may just be the ticket for it. When I try it, I'll post a pic. Be sure to check back if you will!
