Kudos to Spellbinders for creating some embossing folders that finally can suit every crafter.

You normally have to choose an embossing folder for an A-2 card OR a slim line design card OR a 5 x 7 card. Spellbinders has come out with some embossing folders that are large enough to complete any of the three sizes. Duh! What took you all so long?!? Please, manufacturers, let this become the standard size to suit the market. (And it sure would be nice to have background dies follow suit.)

Of course they have. AFTER I already bought a lot of EFs over the years. LOL

But for newbies this is a great product!

Sometimes I can make an A2 or A7 work for a slimline. Just reverse and fit it into the pattern.

Those would be massive and expensive background dies - they are priced by area! That would be nice though. Foiling plates too, while we're dreaming.

Pricing 5 x 7 background dies at prices of $30 and more just seems greedy, I think. It makes sense for a basic nesting set of rectangles, but some of these dies are little more than thin frames. Spellbinders has a set out that retails for $14.99 and has 23 pieces! Can that set really cost half as much as one large background die to produce?

I am so glad to see A9 embossing folders! I work in the A9 size most of the time. Yes, I can use smaller pieces in layers on cards, but it's nice to be able to emboss the WHOLE card front. Yay!

Spellbinders dies are manufactured in China, so it's possible their pricing structure is different - I was thinking of the manufacturer in the US where dies are priced according to how many fit on a steel sheet.
