Default fabric ink question

I am looking for ink to stamp on fabric that would be washable. Will stazon work for that? What should I use? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I always use the Palette Hybrid inks ... they work wonderfully. I have thrown them in the wash numerous times and they do not fade at all. HTH

Tsukineko used to make ink pads & markers under the name Fabrico. I think they now go by the name VersaCraft. They're wonderful.

SU craft (pigment) inks work great. You have to heat set them before washing. Just let the ink dry on the fabric, then toss in the dryer for a few. Then wash, dry and wear as needed. I would probably recommend washing in cold water.

I use either Clearsnap Ancient Page or Clearsnap Crafters...be sure to heat set (iron or heat gun) after the ink has dried. Do not wash the stamped fabric for one week...warm or cool water wash.

Another important tip...wash and dry the fabric before stamping; do not use any type of water softener in either the washer or dryer. If stamping on either denim or muslin, it'll take up to four washings to remove all sizing. After washing, press the fabric smooth. I press freezer paper (shiny side of paper against fabric) to the wrong side of the fabric before stamping...it holds the fabric taunt and also acts as a shirt board. Remove the freezer paper after all heat setting has been done.

The Pallette Hybrid inks can be found at papertreyink.com. Also, on Nichole's blog (can take the link from the company website to her blog, you'll find a darling onesie AND a great idea on how to make a baby gift basket.

addictedtorubberstamps.com is the cheapest place I've found the palette hybrids. They're made by Stewart Superior (if you want to search by company) and addictedtorubberstamps.com sells the cubes, so you can more colors. My understanding is the trick to stamping on fabric is to prewash the item you're going to stamp; dry without fabric softener; stamp; and then heat set with an iron. I've done several onesies and once I followed these steps, the image doesn't fade.
