Has anybody found any good deals on envelopes recently?? Thanks.

NOPE! All my friends use those cellophane ones and I HATE them. I buy envelopes at paperzone, but I'm having trouble finding BURGANDY.

buttons2 04-19-2007 01:16 PM

The best bargain (?) I've found this week is at Office Depot for $7.20/100 (that included tax). These were just the plain white generic brand. This was better than anything I had found on line. They didn't have this offer on line, just in their store. HTH.

I found the envies that fit 3x6 cards at Office Max for about $3 for 100 about a month ago. They are their plain white generic ones. The paper quality is not SU's, but the price is considerably lower.

sprtchick 04-19-2007 01:28 PM

Office Depot has 100 white invitation size envelopes for $5.39 if you spend like $50.00. I thought that was pretty good.

I live in a very small town with not that many stores so I get mine at Wal-mart. There are 60 in a box for under $4.

You can always check with your grocery stores, drug stores, etc. When the card company rep is replacing/adding cards they toss the envelopes and are willing to give them away for free. Of course you get all different sizes but they can be cut down to whatever size you need. If the envelope is large and colored, it can be used for backgrounds and such.

I have some extra ones for sale that are very reasonable if anyone is interested.

I purchase my clear envies from a banner ad I read here at SCS.

www.clearenvelopesambershaw.com

I was very satisfied and the service was quick.

carrieflanagan 04-19-2007 02:49 PM

I hope this isnt a hijack...but, I was wondering if anyone has a good place to get high quality envys from? I am going to be making my brothers wedding invites, and would like a heavy weight, high quality envy...not sure what size they will be yet, so someplace that offers a variety of sizes, and colors too, would be fab! Thanks all! :0)

Ditto! I love them as they look so classy!

Hmmm....I posted some info last night and I'm subscribed to this list, but my post isn't here so obviously I broke some rule. Sorry about that for whatever I did.

I think I got a good deal on some 3.25", 5" and 6.5" square envies but had to buy in lots of 1000. I've used www.clearenvelopesambershaw.com as well and found the service and quality to be excellent.

Try EnvelopeMall[dot]com.

I've been wanting to place an order with them but unfortunately, they only use UPS to ship orders (I have an APO address, so I can only use USPS). I've compared the prices to Paper Zone, where I bought all paperie for my own wedding, and wish I had found Envelope Mall first. Good luck!

mlehmer 04-25-2007 04:15 AM

I just placed an order with: http://www.clearbags.com/. I got 350 bone white envelopes with the square flap for $14.70. You do have to place a $40 order or there will be a small handling fee. Their shipping is super fast, too. I expect to have all the different envelopes I ordered by Friday.

greetingsbydebra 04-25-2007 05:32 AM

I also bought envelopes from clearbags. You can get 1000 of the bone white envelopes for $26. If you don't think you'll use all 1000 go in with a friend or 2. I haven't found a better price anywhere.

Oh, and I wanted to add that they are the nice square back kind like SU's.

hgrohs 05-14-2007 01:04 PM

For those of you who ordered the Bone White envelopes from clearenvelopes.com, do they look like Whisper White or Very Vanilla? I need some VV colored and WW colored for my own personal use. What is the texture like? I love SU!'s envelopes, but I go through so many.

greetingstoinvites 05-14-2007 01:14 PM

I would check out ebay... I like to use the square flap ones from SU but, they cost about 11 cents each after shipping & discount.
I recently purchased a bulk lot of 1000 envelopes with square flaps for about $30.00 that brings envelopes down about 3 cents each. They are the same size as the medium ones SU and go by the size A2. Office depot & the like don't offer the square back & are more expensive per envelope.
I am just finishing up my wedding invitations & was trying to get the best deal possible with spending a fortune on envelopes

greetingstoinvites 05-14-2007 01:16 PM

that is withOUT. oops

If you have anyone living near Brunswick, Ohio... Hollo's sells their envelopes like we use for our cards for $4.00 per 100. they come in many colors, white and cream. they have every size you could imagine.do not know those prices, maybe you could see if they have an online source.

I just paid the site a visit. Looks great! I don't need any now (just bought 400 at Office Depot), but saved the site for future. Even with the shipping costs, it is still a great deal when buying 1000! Thank you for the heads up!!!

hgrohs 05-15-2007 04:28 AM

I meant to ask about the Bone White from clearbags.com, not clearenvelopes.com. Can anyone who has bought these tell me what they look like colorwise? Are they like Natural White? Whisper White?

I would like to know this as well. If I want a match to Whisper White, should I choose the Bone White or Bright White at www.clearbags.com? Thanks to anyone who answers!

Dollar Store

I buy mine at the dollar store near here (Toronto, Canada) and they sell bundles of larger card envelopes, mostly white ones but also colored and you get 25 for $1.00 with an elastic around them plus our 14% sales tax.

They sell cards for $1 as well and I guess they are the leftovers from the cards somehow. The colored ones are pale yellow, blue, pink, etc.

Many will fit cards 5 x 7. They vary in size too but are such a deal (for us) that I buy them there and have a good stock of them.

greetingsbydebra 05-26-2007 05:19 AM

I forgot to check back on this thread after I posted. Oops! To answer your questions, the bone white is very white. I thought it might be less white, given the name, but it's a very nice crisp white.

barbiejo 05-26-2007 03:02 PM

Are the naturals from clearbags as dark as they appear?

hgrohs 05-28-2007 05:25 PM

Debra,

Thanks for answering. I'm hoping to order some soon. I'm out of my regular "cheapies" I use for my own personal use.

bluelemon 05-28-2007 06:59 PM

the cellophane envelopes from http://clearenvelopesambershaw.com/ , are there just those 3 sizes to choose from or are there more? I am confused.. help! :)
