Different brands of "kraft" differ slightly in color. My SU kraft is significantly lighter than the kraft from Hobby Lobby, for example. Is there a specific brand that you're trying to match?
I did think of that. Neenah desert storm for sure... I have a variety. So if one could tell me like light/medium/dark that would be helpful. I am thinking I could lay down more layers if I need to darken w inks?...pencil not so much unless it is a WC....

Gee I always seem to think of crazy things huh?
You're not alone in thinking of crazy things - just braver about putting them out there for consideration, lol. I'll go through my pencils and see if I can come up with suggestions...
I went and checked my prismas against my Desert Storm paper and didn't find a great match. I'll look again in the daylight and see if I can get better results. I'll check my watercolor pencils too.
Thank you both. I thought I had seen a demo at some point where the person used a pen called Kraft. I dont have copics so I cant tell. When I google for one there seems to be one in Blick under Chartpak markers...
I am wondering if it might in the skin tones of sets...sounds weird but...
I did look up the prismacolors in the daylight (made a big difference). The pencil that goes with the Neenah Desert Storm is 1094 Sandbar Brown. It's a great match when colored lightly and multiple layers make a darker shade of the same color.
One recommendation for when you color with the Sandbar. Be sure to start light and only layer on more a little bit at a time. It can get dark really quick.
There weren't really any other pencils to work with the Sandbar for blending. I look at that page in my color sample cards and I think, "Yuck!", because everything is SO different and nothing matches anything!
I've checked out the two "kraft" cardstocks that I have (Hobby Lobby kraft and Stampin'Up! Crumb Cake) and don't really love any of the pencils with them. Prismacolor 1080 Beige Sienna can be passable, I suppose. Spectrum Noir GB8 is a marker that goes well with the Hobby Lobby kraft. Bic MarkIt Tiki Hut Tan is similar to the Spectrum marker, so that may be an option, as well. Hope that helps...
I've given up on all other brands of "kraft" cardstock...even SU, and I'm a demo! Neenah Environmental in Desert Storm is the ONLY one I use now. Maybe that's because I am picky on my browns and tans. Everywhere. Even clothes!
There are SO many different colors of "kraft" papers! How could one even keep track?
You are so right Fionna-there are many shades of "kraft". Some are lighter, some are darker like a paper bag. I was just thinking today about when buying a pattern paper you want to go with a kraft base card....not easy either!
Nope, that would also be hard! Browns are basically darker oranges. They can tend toward the reddish in their brown, or toward the yellowish. Or in order to get them darker, they could be greenish. And they don't all match all other colors!
I try to get that across to my DH in clothes, but he just doesn't see it! ;)
There is a shade I call monkey poop....lighter with lime green tones...
Greys are like that too. Warmer or cooler. Some just remind me of rodents. ick.
You cant go by me though. I don't like black and navy/midnight blue together as clothes and yet people do it all the time. Looks like a bruise to me. As would eggplant with black. But they make for a great night sky!
