Default Stampin up score board help

I am having problems getting my card bases perfect using the score board. I am OCD about the edges meeting perfect. It is always a little off. Is there a trick to getting a card base scored perfectly in half?

Make sure that you have your cardstock butted up tight against the top rail and the left rail, and make sure it doesn't shift when you score it.

But honestly, most of the time when my bases are a little off, it turns out that the original cardstock wasn't exactly 8-1/2 x 11 - the measurements were off from the manufacturer. I usually just make sure the little bit longer side is on the front, and I haven't had a recipient notice it yet.

Are you folding with the "valley" of the scoring on top or the "mountain"? I found if I fold with the valley side up, it does not line up as well. I flip them over so the mountain is up and they line up much better.

I align the bottom edges and push the paper up to the score line and have no problems with alignment.

Thank you !!!!!! I don't like when my fold is off and I have a Teflon bone folder and I am very meticulous but rarely is my front/back aligned 100% - very close, but off just enough to bug me LOL

I thought I was going nuts because no matter how meticulous I am, I just cannot get that perfect fold.

You made me feel much better !!!!

I had this problem when making my 2013 Christmas cards. I finally figured out that the Paper Trey white paper I had bought was not evenly cut so there was no way I could get an even cut or fold without first measuring the entire sheet & cutting thin "slices" off to be certain I was using a perfect sheet of paper. I also was really bummed because the pre-folded Stampin Up Cherry Cobbler & Old Olive card bases I bought had fuzzy edges - not terribly bad, but definitely noticeable & had to be trimmed before I could use them.

I use the scoreboard not only to score but to fold. Place the paper as usual with top and the side of the paper against the rails and score. Flip the paper over so the "mountain" score is on top and place the paper back into the scoreboard just like you're going to score it. Take the right side of the paper and fold it over until that side touches the top and side rails of the scoreboard. Now the two top corners should be perfectly aligned since they are both square in the corner and fold.

I fold mountain in the inside. I always say mountain in the middle and that's how my sisters and I remember. I will try what you do Anna and see how that goes.
