E6000 adhesive

I saw that this is used to make those cute paper clippies...

what is it and where do you get it???:D

shell_scraps 01-29-2007 11:39 AM

it is a glue that can glue your bumper to the garage wall and not be able to move it...

I use it for all kinds of stuff....it's in a tube....and I use a toothpick to put it on...a little goes a long long way!!

SewCrafty 01-29-2007 12:36 PM

I found it at Wal-mart in the scrapbook aisle.

sarah9678 01-29-2007 12:40 PM

is it expensive??? if yes...just say it lasts forever so I can justify it!!

CrazyStampFrog 01-29-2007 02:16 PM

It is not expensive, I think I paid 4.99 or 6.99 this weekend at Michael's.

One note of Warning, though, it stinks, and can cause serious harm if inhaled (and it is winter so, I don't have any real good way to ventilate my stamp room!) and it is known to the state of California to cause cancer...

I HAD to have it, but now after one use, I'm a little afraid of it.

sarah9678 01-29-2007 02:19 PM

is there anything like it that is safer? I will end up getting it tho...

I used a 3D pop up glue dot to make the decorated giant paper clips. It worked great and was way easier to use than E6000!

I was thinking that but are they strong enough...will they fall apart

mardellecat 01-29-2007 02:53 PM

The first couple I made over a week ago haven't come apart. The pop ups I have are very strong, so I don't think they will fall apart.

sarah9678 01-29-2007 02:57 PM

Thanks, I might try doing a few with the pop dots as I have some on hand!

That's lovely, cancer causing adhesive just to make big clippies LOL ~ I ended up using super glue :(

mspfd 01-29-2007 06:52 PM

Thanks for the warning! I bought some from Michaels a few weeks ago, but haven't gotten around to making the clippies. If I can find the receipt, you can be sure I'm taking it back for a refund.

It's inexpensive and a little goes a long way. I use it for many things - and it DOES stick WELL.

parsnip 01-30-2007 08:59 AM

It is the best thing for flat glass beads and refrigerator magnets. Lots of sticking power.

merrymstamper 01-30-2007 09:08 AM

I used "the ultimate" to make the giant clips, it worked great!
It comes in a bottle like the tacky glues :)

goodlicorice 01-30-2007 05:46 PM

What about the space the paper clip creates between the chipboard, is it really big? Can you see all the glue in there? Does that make sense?

I used "goop" glue, works wonders as well as E6000 and it doesn't stink. Cheaper than E6000 too, you can find it at Walmart, Michael's, Joann's etc.
Clippies haven't come apart either.
