Default Pretties flower substitute

Does anyone know of a source for the white flowers that are SU's pretties kit? Can they be made with punches or die cuts? Are they silk flowers, primas, or what?? Need help to make my own and save money.
Tks in advance!

I think I saw something about this on someone's blog - sorry don't remember who.

They used regular silk flowers that you can find at Michaels, etc. They pulled them off the stems and colored them with Copic or Prismacolor or Sharpie markers, I think.

I have a couple of punches by Martha Stewart that I use all the time to make flowers. There is a layered daisy one, and a cornflower one that make lovely flowers from cardstock. I use a brad or jewel in the middle when I put them on cards.
