Default ciao or sketch??

I really REALLY would love some copics but with such an investment, I don't want to get it wrong...

Looking at the nibs for the ciao and sketch markers they look pretty similar.
I see that ciao are generally cheaper and sketch have far more colours, but are there any differences while actually using them?

thanks in advance!

The ink is identical, there may be a few more colors of sketch, but the most important difference is that the sketch are refillable, the ciao are not. go to www.copicmarker.com. They have a good feature listing or search copic here and you will find more info than you need! The sketch are also slightly smaller in diameter and fit better in my hand. I bought a few ciao before I knew the differences and have only bought sketch since. HTH~

The ciao are refillable, too. I got mine at a convention last year, and they showed me how to refill them. I have not done it myself, though. Eileen

The ciao and the sketch have EXACTLY the same nibs and ink. The difference is the barrel shape...the ciao is round and the sketch is oblong. The sketch have more color options. What I have done is buy the ciao line and fill in some of the missing colors with the sketch. The sketch marker is made for the airbrush system, the ciao will work as well with a little "tweaking".
Hope that helps....I just finished refilling some of my ciaos...works like a charm!

I have the sketch, mostly because that is what HL carries and now I want to keep them all the same
