double sided tape
Does anyone know where I can get adhesive in the dispenser, (the kind you use for scrapbooking or making cards, I can't remember what it's called) with refills for cheap. I'm tired of paying $4 or $5 dollars per each. They don't last that long?

I use the Making Memories tape runner, it's not that cheap though but sounds a similar thing to what you're after.

I use scotch brand double sided tape and just put it in the regular desk top dispenser. I just rip off a piece at a time. It isn't as convenient as a tape runner, but it is cheaper.

I use the double sided scotch tape that goes in a dispenser. I was at Office Max the other day and they had the refills for $2 which is an awesome price. I bought 10 rolls of the stuff. I may go get more.
My snail just hasn't been sticking well lately. |
I save a ton on adhesive since I switched to liquid glue for all cs sticking! I use scotch brand tacky adhesive and tombow mono multi (in the white and green bottle); both are designed for use on paper and stick great without warping the paper. Just a thin bead of glue about a quarter inch in from the edge is all ya need to stick it down, and I love that you have a second or two of wiggle room for repositioning. I still use a tape runner (usually 3L brand in the red case) for photos and ribbon, but the liquid stuff saves huge money.

I also use scotch double sided tape in a table top dispenser.

I also use double sided (from SAMS club, best price) but I've been tempted to get the table top dispenser for my double sided tape. What size (width) of tape do you all use? Hope this isn't considered a highjack?! If so, please PM me. thanks.

Another vote for Scotch double-sided tape refills which I pop into my desk-top dispenser. I've heard others here on SCS complain of various off-brands so I haven't experimented much; I stick to Scotch brand.
I watch for sales or coupons...Office Max or Depot will sometimes run coupons in the paper for $10 off of a purchase of $20...that's when I run in and buy a few more rolls. Someone on here also said that Sam's Club sells the Scotch brand refills in bulk at a good price, but I haven't checked it out yet (my stash is still pretty good and I'm not a Sam's member). Can anyone verify that? |
I use Scotch brand double sided tape, but was buying it at Sam's, 6 pack for $8.??, but the more I read this thread, I may just look into using the despenser kind. I have tried the refillable tape runners and it seems like when they jam up, you waste so much, and they arn't cheap. I am sticking with Scotch double sided.

I've seen the duck brand double sided at Joann's too, so you could get it with a coupon.
I have saved a ton though since I switched to Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive, it is liquid and it is fabulous (and cheap!!). |
I just bought an atg gun. I must say I am loving it. It is a little expensive to start out with, but the tape is cheap!

I've used the duck brand double sided tape from Walmart and I do not like it. It doesn't stick near as well and the scotch brand. I also use the mono multi and I like it real well.

Thanks for the tips. I guess I meant to say I was looking for cheap tape runners, but now I think I'll try the Scotch tape in a dispenser. Also, the liquid stuff. Sounds good. None of it buckles the paper, right? Thank you all for your help.:D

I use Scotch brand Double sided tape. with a table top disperser. I also purchase my tape at Sam's Club 6 rolls for $8.98.
It works out to be around $1.44 a roll. Which isn't too bad. |
And it *holds* a lot better over the long haul, in my experience! Low-tech, but it works -- why mess with success? ;)

Great. I have been having trouble with my tape runners holding. They always seem to pop off unless I load them with tape, and the tape runners are always clogging and breaking.

This is how I do it too. My friend works for 3M in the adhesive dept. Can you say YEAH!? I also have access to the 3M company store for "Bricks" of double sided tape. |
YEAH!
