Question Does MISTI Close Flat?

Hi all, I've searched through the various discussions about them, but haven't seen my specific question answered. Hopefully my question will make sense.

So, I have the Stamparatus and am mostly content with it. However, sometimes, the fact that the hinge on it sits so high up makes it tricky to use certain areas of the tool and still get a good stamped image. It's like I can't get it closed far enough near the hinge, even with the foam in the base. (Now, it's entirely possible that it's a user error, so feel free to let me know if you think that's the case.) I especially struggle to use the Concord and 9th turn-about stamps in there.

I'm toying with getting a MISTI, but wanted to say if it closes flatter, if that makes sense.

Thank you so much for any help you can offer! I've never posted here before, but have learned SO much from searching the forums.

I can't compare the SU product with the MISTI as I do not own both. I own the MISTI and use the Concord and Ninth turnabout stamp with no problem. It was designed for the MISTI. Now, I would think the SU product would work with this product, though. You place the jig in the machine and lock it in, then your paper is taped to the jig. You place your stamp to line up in the jig. I would think it would work in the same process in the SU model.

We do have a MISTI challenge here were you can enter and possibly win the $50 to purchase a MISTI or towards the price of the MISTI depending on what size you are purchasing. The October challenge is not up, yet, as MISTI Monday got sick and it has been pushed back. This is the forum where the challenge will be posted when available: My Sweet Petunia Forum at Splitcoaststampers

Yep! That's the genius of the MISTI design - the original .

Hi I have both. The Misti will stamp in the corners by the hinges. It does not have spots where stamping is hit or miss. It closes flat. The Stamparus sits in the drawer until I need to move a stamp down the paper where I can use the moving hinge for that.
