I keep checking this thread. I think this machine will be really cool if it works well. I am looking forward to finding out what others think!

I just read on the Stampcritter Yahoo group that the machine is going to go up to 229.95 after December 31st.

Is it just me or does that machine look like the thing that you stick your hands in at the nail shop to dry your manicure? If so I can get one of those for $39.99 at the beauty supply store and the bulbs are so much cheaper there too!

This was posted on the yahoo message board - I had asked if the consumables were going to raise also

Re: Cost of consumables?

No, consumables will remain the same.

Here's the deal. The original StampCritter we've used for beta testing
and for our planned production required a separate timer and had a
limited image area. Our production designers came up with another
version, slightly larger, with timers built into the StampCritter.
Rather than come out with multiple versions of the same product, we
chose to go with this larger one as our standard model. For those that
have already received a StampCritter, they are getting a coupon in the
mail that will allow them to exchange to the larger size at no
additional cost - just ship the StampCritter they received back to us
with the postage-paid mailer we included.

If you have not yet received your StampCritter, you are getting the
larger one. And as you order, we add your name to the queue and ship in
the order they are assembled and packed. And it's a LONG list, so be
glad you're in the queue now. We had no idea this would be such a
popular product, and our staff is working on overtime to get these out.
It's an exciting time around here!

I expect to have the new consumable choices loaded this evening for the
new smaller (and larger) sizes available for refill kits.

So does this mean that the StampCritter (larger size) is "only" $199 until Dec 31? OYE!

I believe so, also you can try adding this code "scs" to see if it still gives you the $30 off.

You've been a dolly to be asking all the awesome questions and reporting back to us. I've been appreciating all that you've shared. Can't wait to hear what you (and others, too) have to say about how the critter actually performs.

The company seems to be pretty responsive to your questions and concerns -- a definite plus.

I have another question regarding the pricing on the StampCritter. I know that if I put in SCS in the code box it takes $30 off the price.

What I am wondering is if I can also enter a code I saw in the Feb '08 issue of Crafts & Things to get an addtional set of supplies free. If so, I will go ahead and purchase this machine before the price goes up by another $100 on Jan 1st.

I'll be watching anxiously for a response to my question!

I am so excited to see the results of the reviews... I am really tempted to buy one of these things too. I have a little extra $ coming but I don't know if I'll have it by the 31st.

Hey ladies... there is a review of the product on Amazon posted Dec 16.

Amazing product !, December 16, 2007
By Sarah Rap "mortal wombat"

"I own the StampCritter and can't praise it enough.I will never have to pay a small fortune for custom stamps again and, because I like to be original, I have purchased numerous custom stamps that I use to create various items that I market.Needless to say,at around .30 per completed square inch of stamp with the StampCritter,it has already paid for itself in savings.
I had it out of the box and set up in less than 5 minutes so I give it a definite 10 on ease of use.Anything I have ever dreamed of putting on a stamp, I can now have in a very short time.No waiting.I have even reduced images of custom designs I made for pumpkins this Halloween and was able to make stamps of my kids' faces !
If you are a serious "stampaholic", you will love StampCritter !! "

I'm not real sure, but I think most orders will be backordered until they catch up with production. (If so, they wouldn't hit your credit card until it was shipped, would be my guess.). Since they changed the model of the Stampcritter and made it larger, they no doubt will wait to get those new ones in before filling the orders. I plan on calling the company today and finding out a little bit more. I'll ask about expected delivery date and report back.

I also wondered about the delay in shipping. On their website they don't actually have anything for direct credit card payment, only checkout through Google or Paypal which would be instant, wouldn't it?

Golly, I didn't even look at the checkout stuff closely. I just assumed one could pay with a credit card. I don't "do" paypal and I have no idea what paying by "google" is, so I may be out of luck doing an internet order. Hope I'm able to reach a live body at their phone number on Monday who can help me stumble through the ordering process!

If it is Google Checkout, if you are a new customer you get another $10 off your order from Google!

I will admit to my ignorance here - what is involved with becoming a Google member and how does one go about it? (I thought google was just a search engine, I didn't know there were other aspects to it...naive, on my part, huh? )

I went on Google and read all the stuff. It looks like all you do is sign up, choose a password, enter all your information and a credit card number. Then when you find a merchant that takes Google checkout all you do is click on that and it is done automatically to your credit card and you don't have to enter all the information on the merchant site. I am assuming you still have the protection involved with using a credit card. There is no cost to use it for the buyer.

The only way I'm getting one is if my expected moola comes in on Monday. If I get it after the 31st then I'm going to wait.

When I signed up for Google Checkout I was on the buy.com site so I'm not sure how you just go and sign up. You could always go to buy.com and see if you can find the advert for it there. When I bought my DH something earlier this month they had a special where if you were a new Google Checkout customer you got $10 off what you were buying. I am not sure if that is still in effect or not.

My enthusiasm for this product has cooled dramatically in the past couple of days. I called the company last Friday and requested a call back so I could order over the phone, I was told someone would be in contact within 24 hours - no call or e-mail. I called again on Monday and left a message that I wanted to buy the product before the price went up on Jan 1 and that I was a SCS member and wanted to use the SCS code for $30 off. I was told that I would receive a call back to take the order - nothing again!

If a company is so uninterested in having someone give them money for their product, how likely are they to provide good customer service if you have a problem with their product?! After this experience, I decided I didn't want to find out. StampCritter obviously didn't need or want my business, so I will keep watching for other similar products to appear and check them out. Just my two cents.

It sounds like they are a small business who is being overwhelmed by the response to their product. I hope it comes soon. I am still interested in what people have to say.

I called again on Monday and left a message that I wanted to buy the product before the price went up on Jan 1 and that I was a SCS member and wanted to use the SCS code for $30 off.

I'm going to email your post to the guy at Stampcritter I have been emailing. Just to let him know what happened to you so it doesn't happen to someone else. I have had a great response from emails I had sent. I haven't tried calling them though.

Interested in knowing what you ladies think of it when you get it. I am considering a purchase.
