OK Ladies, here is the lastest news from the StampCritter. There will be a special discount code posted in the Splitcoaststampers Newsletter on Wednesday that will offer $30 (I believe) on the StampCritter.

Also, for those wondering if it will work or not (I'm wondering myself) when you click on the "buy now" tab it shows a 30-day money back guarantee sign.

I'm not sure how long the code is good for. I think I will bite the bullet and buy one, if anyone else buys one please post here. That way when we get our machines we can compare notes.

You can access it, but it is posted about a week after it is emailed to everyone in the resources forum. If you are interested in the code, I can post it here after it comes out.

I posted this in the General Stampin forum also, here's the code to get $30.00 off the StampCritter

Kim:

We would like to announce a Stamp Critter special that will run this Wednesday in
the Split Coast Stamper's weekly email. For Split Coast Stampers exclusively, we are
offering a $30.00 off online discount. When ordering, Split Coast Stampers will need
to input the discount "scs" in the discount code box. This offer is for a limited
time so we hope many will take advantage of it.

This discount will work today and for your continued interest in Stamp Critter we
wanted to give you and your friends first notice. Thanks.

I just did some more checking on the website for StampCritter and found that the shipping is almost 30 dollars so basically the discount will pay for the shipping. I'm thinking it doesn't seem like it should be that heavy and the shipping seems a little steep.

hmm, very intriguing! I'm starting a custom invitation business at the beginning of the year and this could be very useful! I'm really looking forward to hearing the reviews. (And hopefully this code will be available after the holidays, as well; it is tough to justify that much $ this time of year!)

Maybe the Stamp Critter people should donate one to one of you deserving girls so you can test it out and tell us all about it. Tell them this site has 90,000 members or so and that we are all a bunch of enablers. They will sell out in a week after giving away a "demo" model. Just a thought. Word of mouth is great advertising just ask Papertrey Ink and Bella Stamps and all the others.

Default StampCritter Shipping

I tried the same thing, but the shipping came in around $14. It probably depends on where you live. Also, it looks like it includes some type of machine with it, so I don't think it's a light package. Amazon.com has it as well, and they have a cheaper shipping price, but not the $30 discount.

I ordered mine yesterday and I will let everyone know how it works when I get it. I told the guy from StampCritter that I have been emailing for info that if this product works as he says it will make him a fortune and if it doesn't, well everyone on Splitcoast will know about it.

Thank you for being our official "tester" for this product. It's a tough job and we're glad you stepped up to do it!!!

I'll be watching for your report.

It would be neat... but I don't know if I'd use it enough to buy it. Then again, I have a hard time buying more stamps at the local stamp store - it seems I own most of them or something LIKE them. Default Consumables

Yeah, but did you see the cost for consumables of the JustRite machine? Much higher than the StampCritter. And the $100 unit uses a 60-watt light bulb, which doesn't seem as concentrated if it's making a stamp. I bought mine today with the SCS code, even though they said the code wouldn't work until tomorrow. Saved $30!

Be sure and post when you get yours. I would like to compare notes and trade tips. I hope this works also, I convinced my husband it would be invaluable in his ministry.

Default Stamp Critter

http://www.stampcritter.com/

I just saw this link here at SCS. Does anyone have it? Can anyone tell me about it?

I am not thinking that I could ever produce the next great line of stamps like many of you talented ladies have done....but I have often that that it would ba a hoot to have some of my kids doodles & creations immortalized in stamps!

Love to hear everyones impressions of this!!

ANOTHER UPDATE - there was a problem with the URL connecting for the StampCritter site, so the advertisement is not in the newsletter today, but from what I understand the code is still going to work. It's just "scs".

In response to what someone posted earlier - I did offer to test the machine for free - all they had to do was send me the machine. Needless to say they didn't take me up on my offer.

I am trying to decide if I want to take a chance on this. I do find the information somewhat misleading in that they state the cost per stamp at as low as 20 cents square inch. I live in Arkansas, they are in Colorado. The shipping for the machine to me is 27.65...shipping 100 sq. in. of consumables is 17.90 plus 39.95 for the material...or a cost per square inch of 57 cents. It gets cheaper if you bought 250 square inches, I get 37 cents, and if you pay $99.95 for 500 square inches, my shipping is 29.10, so cost per square inch is close to 20 cents at 25 cents. Not that you couldn't make a cute stamp for a good price, but the shipping still is bothering me as it seems very high unless this stuff weighs tons. An exposure unit with a light is probably not heavy but hard to say. Wish I could quit analyzing it and make a decision.

The shipping is high. I bet they aren't taking shipping into consideration when they tell you 20cents a square inch. They did mention trying to get their product in stores, which would cut out shipping costs. Try emailing them your concerns, if enough people do, maybe they can do something about it.

I was on the fence for a while myself and I sent them about a dozen emails asking them questions. I've posted some of the emails here.

I guess I'm not as interested in the cost of the stamps as much as the ability to make my own stamps. We send a lot of cards to people at church - my husband pastors a very small church - and sometimes you just can't find a stamp you need. I like the idea of making stamps from bible verses.

My first project if I get the machine in time is to make some Thomas the Train stamps and make my grandson's birthday invitations and party favors.

I'm also involved in a puppet ministry and I think it would be neat to make some puppet stamps to make cards and so forth for my kids on the puppet team.

Good luck with your decision.

Kim

I have emailed StampCritter again - they are going to be really sick of me - about the high shipping costs, here is the response I got:

Kim:

Based upon the comments of our customers, we have changed our distribution center from San Diego to Colorado Springs (which is about half way across the nation) in doing so we substanially reduced our shipping costs. Please let your friends know at SCS. While we can not change the orders already placed, shipping costs for future consumables will be substantially lower.

Thank you for pointing this out and allowing us to make the change! We are continuing to strive to make our customers happy.

Wow! I'm impressed - SCS members speak and companies listen!!!

I am getting so excited to find out how these machines perform. I'm saving my $$$ for it in the event I MUST have it.

They have listened and acted already. I just went in and checked the shipping costs on ordering consumables and it is half of what it was yesterday. I can't get an adjustment on the shipping costs for my machine though, bummer!

I read this whole thread and this is absolutely fabulous. And I think definitely worth the money if it works good. I am interested to hear your reviews. I am watching this as well!!

I am so glad that I came to SCS first. I was googleing stamp plate makers in order to have a few plates made for some sentiments that I wanted done. I have these moments of sheer brilliamce where I think of the funniest things to say and then never find a stamp half way close to what I want to say, so this would be great to make my own and save tons in the long run!

I also checked shipping today and found the consumables shipping WAY down from yesterday but, as you say, the machine is the same 27.45 for me.
