DH is willing to get me an electronic machine as long as you don't have
to buy cartridges. So that means no Cricut for me.
This is exactly WHY I want either the Pazzles or the Klic-N-Kut. I think even tho the money is stiff at the front, buying all those cartridges (and I would buy them all ;) ) would mean paying more for a Cricut in the long run.
Well, my first Die Cut machine was the old Sizzix (which I still have) and then I have the little Sidekick (which is awesome for taking to crops to cut out alphabets, etc) and then got the Cricut (which I don't use hardly at all) But I am eyeing up the new electric Big Shot because with my hands I think it would be so much easier... I LOVE my Sizzix die cutter because I can use it for paper, chipboard and also use everyone elses dies to boot!! Very Versatile

I have the Cuttlebug and Revolution and just ordered the Big Shot.
Why...because I had the Cuttlebug first, and I bought the Revolution because it was only $40 and I could use my nesties and cookie cutter dies without having to use the whole sandwhich thing, I love the magnetic platform and only throwing one plate on top. So why am I getting the Big Shot? Because the CB is narrower, tippy, and ugly lime green, and the Big Shot is wide, not tippy, black and on sale for $62.
I will keep the CB...just because it's only worth about $30 and my daughters can use it instead of their tiny little Cuttlekids.
Hi Cher,
So do you just put your nestability down on the magnetic platform and then your cardstock and then the plate?
I have a cricut and cuttlebug. The cricut was a gift and the cuttlebug was my purchase because I wanted to emboss. I like having both because the cricut makes different sizes which comes in handy. I use the cuttlebug the most because it die cuts and can emboss too. The cricut can't.

I just like having them all -kind of obsessed w/die cut machines. Each one serves a purpose. I like having a wide variety of dies I can use. I almost got rid of my quickutz seeing you can use the dies in the BigKick but if just want a quick cut, its a pain to bring out the BigKick, do the whole "sandwich" thing, etc.
I had an old sizzix that I got rid of last summer when I moved, never used it. I own now a cuttlebug that I love. Last summer I purchased lots on nestabilities and received a Wizard free. The Wizzard is still in the box unopened.
I have a cuttlebug and got a BigKick a couple of months ago. I bought a wizard at the end of last year and just didn't like it. I do like the big kick a lot. It is quickly becoming my fav over the Cuttlebug.

I own the antiquated red pull down handle Sizzix, Cuttlebug and BIGkick (2). I only use the BIGkick now. I also own a Cricut and Expression. Of everything, I use the Expression the most. I do like some of the older Sizzix and Cuttlebug dies and both the Sizzix and Cuttlebug embossing folders.
Ok..replied earlier..but now I sold the Cricut so I have the Cuttlebug and Bigshot.

Do you like the CBug or the Bigshot better? Do you use Nesties in your Bigshot with success? I mostly do embossing and Nesties so don't know which machine is my best over all machine.
My first die cutter was the QuicKutz. I liked it, but it kind of hurt my hand to use it and the dies were so small!
Then I got the red Sizzix. I bought a ton of dies when they were being clearanced out. I still use it, but less and less.
Then came the Tag-along. I liked the portability and all the cute (but pricey) dies that were perfet for my cards!
Next came the Cricut. I used my Christmas money to buy it, but got really frustrated because the stupid thing never wanted to cut through my cardstock. (My daughter has taken this one over for scrapbooking and seems to have better luck with it.)
Lastly, came the Cuttlebug. I don't really know why I even bought this one! Guess cuz everybody else had one! I like it but get confused with all the dumb "sandwiches" and usually opt for #2, the old red Sizzix.
This morning I was actually considering the Slice! Is there no hope?!!!
I have an old red lever Sizzix, a BigKick and the Cricut Expression.
The only reason I bought the BigKick was because the old red lever Sizzix couldn't take the Sizzix Texturz and Fiskars & Stampin Up Embossing Plates and really wanted to use them without using the Embossing Tool (too much work). The reason I still have the lever one is that nobody responded on Craigslist when I tried to sell it (it's boxed up on a shelf in the closet). I use the BigKick and Cricut Expression OFTEN!!!
Hi everyone, my name is Robyn and I have an addiction...I have the red sizzix, the sidekick,qk handle,qk squeeze, cricut, bigshot,I sometimes think I want, I mean need an expressions. Really, the ones I use the most re my cricut and my bs.

LOL Robyn. I totally NEED an Expression as well. I don't have any kind of electric die cutter. So I am saving, and slowly but surely building my Expression fund. Hopefully by September! Yipppeeee!
Old Red Sizzix- DH & I use it for other things beside's die cutting. That is one of the best tools in the world. It smashes everything.
Cuttlebug- Wanted the Big Kick but my town would not get them in at the craft stores. JoAnn's ended up getting the CB bought that instead. Two weeks later Big Kick shows up at Michael's
BigKick- Get that one because it is what I originally wanted. I have limited crafting space so I don't know if I should keep it. The pounds of pressure keep me from letting it go. I make jewelry so the CB has less pressure. CB embosses my Nesties better.
TagAlong- I got it cheap. I am trying to decide if I should sale it.
Baby Cricut- Got it when it first came out.
Cricut Expressions- Because those ornery ladies at the Cricut board enabled me.
Trying to decide if I should sale both Cricut's for a Pazzles. Will probably keep the Expressions since I am a Hello Kitty fan. I don't want to part with my HK cartridges.
Xyron Personal Cutting System- Got a great deal on Ebay. I love it but don't use it alot.
Slice- DH surprised me. I really love it.
Wishblade- I am probably going to sale it. Love it, would use it constantly but I can not get it to print & cut. I think the laser is wonky in my machine.
I also have punches, Coluzzle, & Fiskars Shape System

I totally NEEDED the Expression as well and was building up my pennies to put toward it. Then...I SAW IT ON HSN! I got the Expression, 5 carts, markers, and some other things for four payments of about $85. I know you can get the machine for cheaper in the stores but it doesn't come with so many carts and other toys. And, you have to pay for the whole thing all at once. I thought it was a great deal! So, if you have no tolerance for waiting (like me :rolleyes check HSN. I think they still have the same deal online.
Oh boy, hmmmmmmm. That does sound like such a good deal! I keep telling myself I am just going to buy SCAL and no carts, ever. And I know that I will see one I want and buy them. I know I will! But, I am in denial. LOL
I have a friend who bought this Expression deal and HSN and she is sooooo happy with it.

Not to hijack here but can someone expand on why the Revolution is so good for the Nesties? I'm thinking of investing in several Nesties but only have the old red Sizzix and was considering the Big Shot (if it's easy to use with Nesties?). But if the Revolution is better than the Big Shot I'd consider that instead...???
Lots of people use the Revolution with Nesties because the Revolution is magnetic and Nesties are made of metal. That way you don't need to mess with the sandwiches to get the Nesties to work. However, the Big Shot is universal and the Revolution only takes Quickutz and Nesties. I have both and use both.

Debbie if you are wanting to upgrade, I'd suggest going with the Big Shot. I use my Nesties very well in the Big Shot. The Revolution is nice because, like crafty1021 said, it has a magnetic platform and holds the Nesties and quickutz firmly in place. However you can't use cuttlebug dies, Bigz, Sizzix originals, Bigz XL, etc etc in the Revolution.
The Revolution is great, I think, for an add-on machine, that has a very specific use. But if you are wanting a machine that has a lot of diversity and can accept all the dies on the home die-cutting machine market, then the Big Shot would be my suggestion. You can get a magnet piece to use on the Big Shot platform, and still hold your Nesties down with that. Others simply use repositionable tape.
I looked at the Cricut machine when it was on a roadshow at Costco...and believe it or not, I didn't like it! It looked to "programmed" to where it didn't look original enough to me to meet my expectations as a designer/creator.
I just found a place online where I purchased longer B & C plates for my cuttlebug to fit my alphabet sets better and longer plates. They also sell spellbinders die cuts and have a video on there that shows how they work with ALL the machines. How cool is that?
I really like the way all the manufacturers are making it easier to adapt their die-cuts to your machine and are starting to provide instructions to do so.
One die cut/embossing machine is enough for me.
