Default Questions about SU ink pad storage

Can somebody who already has the SU ink pad storage tower answer a couple of question?

1. Do the ink pads snap into place or just sit in place?

2. Can the ink pads be removed without grabbing the unit to hold it in place to remove an ink pad?

Thanks!

(I asked the questions in another thread, but I can't find the thread now!)

1. The pads "click" more than "snap" if you know what I mean. Wish i could think of a better way to describe it....

2. There is no real effort involved in removing or replacing the pads. My tower sits by my desk and I can easily use the pads without having to hold the unit at all, yet you can easily move the whole tower without any of the pads falling out. I really like it.

It's a great unit. The only real "complaint" I've heard is that you can't spin it super-freely. I think people expect that you can, but you have to more "turn" it than "spin" it, if that makes sense! Maybe they didn't want 48 ink pads to go flying if it spinned!

I did not get one of the caddies for the longest time. And when I did I wondered why I waited so long to make the purchase. The pads are easy to get in and out. There is a sort of grooved area that the pads slip on to. And I keep mine on a Rubbermaid spinning thing that you would put in a cabinet. The caddy spins very nicely with this.
