Distress spray stains and other sprays - what paper?
What type of paper do you use when working with distress spray stains or other sprays (like dylusions)? I’ve googled and read and people just say paper not type of paper. Do I need watercolor paper? I tried some miscellaneous card stock and it curls. Any advice is appreciated.

I would say it depends on the technique you use. I've used sprays on watercolor and mixed media paper with good results. IMHO cardstock doesn't hold up to the wet medium as well if applied heavily.

I agree with @Bohodiva. Also, all paper warps a little - even watercolor paper. I usually put something heavy on top of it while it's drying.

It varies depending on how heavy or light the spray - Neenah Classic Crest 80 if very light, 110 if a little more, sometimes mixed media paper or watercolor paper, but it’s not carefully thought out. Occasionally I tape the edges of the paper all the way around to a clipboard or cutting board with yellow Frog Tape to hold it and/or for a border.

While I don't use spray inks often, when I do use it it's usually with Bristol Vellum paper or Mixed Media paper. I can't figure out why bristol vellum is listed to be used with dry media, because it's my personal favorite to use with water based inks and watercolor techniques. |
