Default Photshop Elements 9 or Corel Paintshop Pro X3?

Ok....SCS is my go to for all my questions on crafts....sooooo~~DH has said I can purchace a photo editing program for my b-day (Costco has both PS 9 and Paint X3 on sale)

Which one? I've looked at reviews and by the time I get the pros/cons, seems they end up pretty tied. You should know that I am 1) a computer ditz
2) Use Picassa (the freebie version) currently and have no CLUE on this stuff 3) have a little point and shoot at this time, but a DSL is on the wish list!!

Thank so much for any input!! I hope to order in the next day or so!!

I've used both PSE (really old version 2.0 I think) and I currently use PSPX for all my graphics work. Both are easy to use, but in my experience PSP is easier and a little more robust than PSE - well at least it is for when I do design work. So, my preference is PSP, but really either one is a great program.

Thanks for the input!! From what I've read, PSP does get higher points in the "easier to use" catagory.....

If I had my choice I would get Photoshop. To me it seems to be a more widely used program. In fact "Photoshop" has become a verb it's so popular. It can be used as a lite program or as a professional program.
