Default Need Circle Punches to fit inside Scallop Circles

I have both the mega and giga scallop circle punches. What size circle punches will fit inside the mega and giga scallops? The same size? Or do I need to drop down a size?

I drop down a size. For mega I use giga, for giga I use extra large. HTH
Color wise purple go down to pink. Pink go down to blue.

I think ya need the Super Jumbo circle to go with the Mega scallop circle. I just use my 2" circle on my CM cutter, but have been thinkin about getting the Super Jumbo punch.

I've seen the picture on Linda Carnell's blog - she uses the Super Jumbo plain circle for the Mega scallop circle - does anyone know if that is because the Mega doesn't fit, or is that just her preference?

To get a layered look, you'd need to have 2 different sizes. This is what I mean; here's my image from that thread which I mentioned above:

So, if your scalloped circle is a Mega size, you'll want to 'take one step down' for the plain circle to the Super Jumbo.
Mega Scalloped (pink) + Super Jumbo Plain (blue) = happy stamper
I don't yet have any of these punches ( :( ) but I imagine if you had 2 of the same size, you might not see much of the scalloped layer and won't achieve the same look.

thank you so much for your descriptive explanation. But DOH! I totally asked the wrong thing - What I meant to ask was if anyone has used the mega regular circle with the giga scalloped circle.

giga scalloped circle + mega regular circle = the most popular combination on SCS...judging by most cards and comments.

Yes, that's what I have, and it looks great. I would also like to get the mega scalloped circle and the "next size down" regular circle to better fit on a 3x3 card, which I've started doing tons of. The giga just about fits in the 3x3, with no border really except for at the corners. We needs more punches!! We needs more punches!!!
