Default Embossing only part of a Cuttlebug Folder?

I've seen lots of beautiful cards where only part of the cuttlebug folder was used to emboss the edges of a card, or to create a frame.

It doesn't look like pieces were glued on, it looks like a single sheet of cardstock.

I saw a web page showing how to do this a long time ago, but can't find it now.

Can anyone point me to a tutorial or give me directions?

Thanks!
Nicole

I am going to try to add a link to a card I found through a Google search for Cuttlebug Christmas Cards...

You might want to look at this web site.

ikki's cuttlebug cupboard: Adapting folders with modifying folder pad

This is not the one I'm trying to find but you could adapt some of her ideas to get a unembossed oval in the middle. Michaels carries a wooden oval shape in their woodcrafting section that is ideal for creating an oval in the middle of the folder. It is from Lara's crafts and is called Frame with Oval 6"x5". Just a thick piece of cardboard with an oval or square or (whatever space you want) cut out of it and placed on top of your cardstock will prevent the folder from embossing in that area. Hope this helps.
