SO frustrated with Joann.com!!!

So, two days ago I ordered 20 of the rectangle PROVO CRAFT tins that are on sale for $3.29 for a class I am doing. I totally changed my original class idea because I knew people wanted to do these tins and since they were on sale, I figured it was a great opportunity.

Anyway, I ordered them 2 days ago and paid extra for express shipping.

TODAY I get an email from them saying they are out of stock and sorry for the inconvinience.

What is wrong with this picture here??? You mean it's 2008 and they don't have sophisticated enough software to know at the time of the order that they are out of stock??? Everyone else seems to...

Also, I went on the website after this email AND IT STILL LETS YOU ODER THEM. No message that they are out of stock.

I will definately think twice about EVER ordering from them again, especially if it's something I REALLY NEED!

Now I guess I am supposed to travel around the Cincinnati area trying to pick one or two of these up at Mike's at twice the price.

Fabulous.

This just tops off my week!

That would make me angry also. Did you try emailing them and complaining and tell them it's for a class coming up soon?

I would chase because it could be that they have 14 and not 20 as antiquated as their system is and that is why it is still showing as in stock.

AND if you go to Mike's remember to print off your coupons

UPDATE:

I sent them a very unhappy message this morning and I got a response tonight.

This is verbatim:

"After you placed your order the items became unexpectedly out of stock. We generally do not keep items listed on line if they are not available. Because they were out of stock your order was canceled. The reason the items are available online to order is because they are now available again. If you would like us to assist you in placing a new order please contact us directly at 888-739-4120. "

WOW - so less than 12 hours after I was notified that my order was CANCELLED, they mysteriously got more product in.

Now, if I get this, I have REORDER my tins, which means I am back at the end of the line and no guarantee that my order will be filled.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE???

I am NEVER ordering from them again. They have lost me as a customer for life.

I've not been happy with them either. They have very slow shipping and it's hard to get a contact person.

I ordered the same tins from them for that great price they have offered for a class I was presenting at our Retreat- Well, thank goodness I brought more tins with me then I needed as a few had significant dents in them. I was very disappointed.

you know, i ordered online from them not too long ago and i was dissapointed as well. they had the paper stacks on sale that are usually 19.99... well they were on sale so i ordered 3, my package comes and says that they credited my card with the difference because one of the packs of designer paper was not in stock. i was really disappointed because i wanted that item for the discount, i would've waited longer for them to send it, but they just chose to give me my money back. fine, i'll take it somewhere else.

I am glad to find this thread. The same stuff has happened to me. Emails are not responded to. I had to call every number on the customer service page. After months, they had not responded to my many emails....no apologies. I think I'm going to find out who the president of the company is. And, I will send a letter to their corporate office. Yes, snail mail!!!!! It's still useful.
If we consumers do not complain loud enough, they keep ignoring us. Let's face it. They have some good sales, especially with the online coupons and free shipping. Let's try to get them to do what they are supposed to do!

same experience with other companies also, doing an online order, so from
now on, I'm calling in my orders, hopefully, they will have the information at hand if out of stock. It really is frustrating

I'm so glad you started this thread. I'm having a problem too. I placed an order on the 15th, and it's still "being processed." I've emailed them, but haven't received an answer. Does anyone have a telephone number? There doesn't seem to be any way to contact them other than email, and I'd like to speak to a person. Thanks.

I had the same type of experience with an on-line order from Joann's too. Waited and waited for an order to come, finally tracked it down and it had been cancelled since they were out of stock. Not backordered, not even notified. Just cancelled. They are really inconsitent and seem to care very little about their customers. So I'll go elsewhere, they're definately not the only show in town! Their loss, right? ;)

Glad to know it isn't just me. When I first started ordering from them everything went well, but the last few times something has always been deleted from my order because they were out of stock. Well, the last order I placed with them included some refills for distressed inks which come in glass bottles. One was broken. I sent them repeated emails and never heard back from them. A month later I moved and now they are no longer a store I shop at. I have a list of places I will no longer do business with because I don't feel as the consumer I should have to beg to be treated with respect and certainly shouldn't have to hunt for customer service. When it comes down to it without us their bottom line cannot stay in the black. Add that to the current economic situation and somewhere someone will be appreciative of my business.

I emailed them again on Friday with no response still.

The email said to call 888-739-4120 for CUSTOMER SERVICE.

After several tries this morning to keep getting "we're sorry, all circuits are busy!?!?!?!", I finally got through and have been on hold for over 10 minutes now.

I'll update you all to let you know how it went and how long it took me to get to someone.

Still trying to get those tins before FRIDAY!!!

ditto for me....i have also had orders cancelled, or just not shipped....had to call l to find out what happened.

i think that with all the other sites available, Joanns will find themselves out of luck !

i will NOT order from them again either.
