I love mine, use it all the time, my tip to you would that after you get both sheets off and have the crystal clear template, take the knife and run it backwards through the channel, NOT with the cutting edge moving through but with the dull edge, this clears out any junk left in the channel from when it was made. Also make sure you are holding your knife right and never force it within the channels, if it isn't moving, there is a reason..figure out why before you ruin your template and possibly a body part! I also took a bunch of different sharpies and outlined each track so that I could see easily which track I needed, outlined each of my stencils in the same order with the same color, so that the red is always the smallest on all my templates, green is biggest, etc.

I love mine too!! You definitly need one. Biggest tip I can give you is to keep the knife straight up and down as you cut and keep a light hold on the template as you work your way around. Oh yeah and make sure your pushing with the cutting side of the blade, not against.

And start with templates that don't a lot of sharp turns in the shapes. At each of those you have to remove the knife & reinsert in the next section. Once you get the hang of it, they're not too bad. But if you start with one of those, you'll likely put the coluzzle away and never pick it upagain.

I have lots of shapes and use them often. They take up little space and work great. The disadvantage is that you have to trim (1/4 inch?) with a scissors where the template stops. Does that make sense--there are 2 sections where the cutting template is connected.

I had the Fiskars thingy that cuts shapes with the orange templates. It was just a piece of junk and got rid of it real quick on ebay. I thought I would hate Coluzzle because of that experience but I love it!

They sell the CUTEST purse template that I made for dd's birthday party invitations "purse-onally" inviting people to her party!

See if a friend has one and borrow it for a week first. You might want to test drive it and see if it is for you before you invest.

I can't scrapbook without it, and use it on my cards too. Check out QVC, you can get a set of templates, knife & mat cheaper than buying a template here & there. JMHO.

I personally could not ever get the hang of using the coluzzle-so I went with Creative Memories cutting system. Every time I tried using the Coluzzle I would either damage/destroy my project or cut my finger. I have lots of friends that use Coluzzle, but have just as many that agree that the ease of CM is much better. I suggest trying a few options before taking the plunge of purchasing a cutting system. FYI-I use the cutting system more for scrapbooking than card making. Hope this helps.
