Default Glossy paper?

Can I use Glossy photo paper as I would use SU glossy paper? Has anyone tried it?

I wouldn't try to heat emboss it. I heard that it can work for just inking techniques, but it takes longer to dry.

it doesn't work for all techniques. don't use alcohol ink with the glossy photo paper. It will melt the top layer and it will goop up on you! this is know from experience! lol

Ewww! Thanks for letting us know! I don't use alcohol inks, but sometimes use rubbing alcohol for some of the techniques. I'll be sure not to try it!

I tried it and it did not work very well at all. The paper absorbed the ink and did not sit on top of it like the glossy cardstock.

Default Glossy cardstock sources

Has anyone seen glossy cardstock in the "easy" sources -- Michael's, A.C.Moore, Joann's, etc?

I've used glossy photo paper with good success. I was using up pieces left over from printing a 5 x 7 paper and didn't want to waste it. I'm not sure I would use it regularly as a glossy surface. I used SU inks. It does take a bit to dry (found that out the hard way! ).

Default found it!

At AC Moore I have found glossy white paper in with the 12 x 12 individual sheets. Look at the upc/decription to make sure it is glossy. You will be able to tell by the feel as well. It is great to experiment with until orders come in from SU or online.

I once tried Staz-on with a rubber stamp on photo paper. It adhered itself to the paper, and actually tore the paper when getting the stamp off.

Glossy is definitely the way to go.

A emb ink resist works ok but little room for error and make sure the ink is dry before you go over it. SU glossy is the best!

I haven't had any problems with alcohol inks on glossy paper. It made a nice backdrop.

Alice, I bought a pkg of glossy paper, 150 sheets, 32 pound, 8 1/2 x 11, made by Xerox at Staples or Office Depot. It works great for all my craft projects and is says it's great for all color printing.
