Question CuttleBug question

I just got my CuttleBug last weekend. It came the "Postage" stamp dies/folders.
I got it out of the box and gave it a try with the sandwich set up that it says to use. The die went through the CS and imprinted the acrylic plate. Is this normal or did I do something wrong?

it will prolly make some creeky sounds too... also expected!

happy cuttlebugging!

i was advised to get a back up set of plates because they will eventually break!

It's normal. The 'B' plate will get the impression too and will eventually look very messy, but still work. HTH!

Oh thank goodness it's normal. I really thought I had done something wrong!
I ordered my first set of nestabilities the other day too!
I picked a cuttlebug die at Wal-Mart yesterday on rollback. It is the ovals. Haven't gotten to play with it yet but I'm wondering how it works as it looks like it is several together??
It's snowing buckets here in Northwest Arkansas which is very unusual. I'm working from home today but it is very hard not to go play with my new bug!

Be sure to flip your plates all around as you use them (use both sides, rotate top to bottom, switch up which one you use beneath or on top). Also, try not to put your dies in the exact same place each time - place the die towards the top, the bottom, the side, etc. This will help give more even wear on the plates. The plates will also start to bow a little (especially if you're not flipping them), so it's important to switch them all around to keep that bowing to a minimum.

Send some of that snow my way! I'm down in Hot Springs, and all it's doing is raining off and on. It's been forever since we've had snow!

There is a swapping thread Forums at Splitcoaststampers

You could probably trade it there in the pay it forward format!

thank you for posting this thread. I just got one today, had to try it immediately, especially since little one fell asleep in the car on the way home, and I made it up to her crib without waking up. So I immediately got mine out too, noticed the etch and started freaking out, hoping I didn't mess it up big time. Thanks for all the advise. and from my understanding from above, you can use it until it breaks - no matter how bad it looks?

THanks again for asking, I knew someone would!!

yep!

you want to get your moneys worth!!!

just rotate it and flip it...

you'll probably want to get a back up set to be on the safe side.

Hi there,

I've heard lots of great things about this machine! How old is this machine? Do you know if they're going to change the colour of it at all soon? Like they have with the Crop-A-Dile?

I am warming up to the green colour. I was just wondering if they'll get a new colour out soon as I'd hate to buy it, then a week later, find out it is coming out in a different colour! lol.
