Default Cuttlebug Question....

I have a new cuttlebug and numerous embossing folders and dies including alphabet set. How do you store all your folders and dies?

Thanks for your input...

Diane

Right now I store my folders and extra plates in a Creative Memories zipper container (that they don't sell anymore) and the smaller dies and alphabets I have in Creative Memories zipper pouches (which they do sell and I have a bunch of them for all different uses - you can easily fit 2 alphabets in one pouch...)

But the tin idea is AWESOME - Guess I know what my next project is going to be....

I had heard that Provo Craft is going to be coming out with their own storage system for the cuttlebug stuff! I think I will wait and see!

I store mine in the tag punch set tin that SU had last year. I like it because the top has that window in it. I am hoping they come out with a storage system like what Sizzix has for the sidekick.

I like the 3-ring binder system to store the dies and folders.

I got the trading card size page protectors with 9 small pockets per page for the smaller dies and folders, and the 4 x 6 photo size page protectors for the larger embossing folders.

As a bonus, all of my new Michaels $1 clear stamp sets also fit into the trading card size sheets.

Maybe they just used the same sheet of cardstock and moved it around and embossed each letter seperatly but in the end looks like done all at once. . .??

I have another Cuttlebug question. I'm a brand newbie to the CB, so I'm sorry if this has already been asked. If you're using one of the full sized embossing folders for a card, do you fold the card first or put it through flat?

I tried it by folding the card first and just inserting the front half of the card in the folder, and having the extra thickness of the backing underneath the folder but it made the crank go really hard and I was afraid I might break the machine. Is it better to put the card through unfolded, or should you use a different combo of pressure plates? I think I used A-B-Embossing Folder-B.

If I understand what you said, you want to emboss the card itself, and not just a piece of cardstock for a cardfront to attach to the card.

I have not embossed on a whole card, but usually cut a piece of cardstock the size of the folder, emboss it, and attach it to the card.

If you want to actually emboss on the card itself, I would suggest opening the card, putting the front of the card in the folder, and running it through that way.

This is how I usually do it. I am not an adhesive master, so this way is easier for me! I use the big white plate, and 2 B plates. The parts all fit, but it is a little tight. I think that's what causes the deep embossing look that results! Good luck~
