Cuttlebug Problems....HELP
I just got a cuttlebug today, I did the Embossing just fine, now I am trying to die cut and it will not go through the machine, what am I doing wrong..
I put A plate down, then B plate, die cut, paper, then b plate, turn the handle and it goes thur, but when it comes to the die it will not go... |
what are you trying to use to die cut..a CB die or something else like Nesties?
Nesties for instance use a different sandwich. |
I am using the CB die that came with the machine,
I think its the postage stamp
|
It depends on the die you are trying to put through which plates you need. Make sure the die isn't at the very edge of the plate. It is hard to explain but you might need to help push it through a little. If you are holding onto the top of the plate (in the back) you might be pushing the front-end of the plate up and it can't go under the roller.
|
I have tried to hold the front end down, and it won't go.
Is it usually this hard the first time you use it? |
It wasn't with mine, first time was a charm....
|
Not that you haven't double checked, but make sure it's the A, B, Die, Paper, B and not the C in there somewhere accidentally.
|
Isn't the postage stamp that comes with the BUg an embossing folder?
|
If it's any comfort, I went through exactly what you are with mine when I first tried it. I was afraid it was going to break but hubby got hold of it and with a bit more pressure, it did just fine. I think I was trying too thick a card stock at first but now it seems to have "loosened" a bit and isn't a problem. Now I wonder how I ever did without it. It does take trying different "recipes" to figure what works, though.

THanks to all, I got it to work and I love it......
|
I love my cuttlebug too but I was so afraid I was going to break something until I used my 40% off coupon to buy another set of B plates. Just knowing I had backup helped I guess. A couple of times I felt I was forcing it to turn and when I checked I had the sandwich wrong. Don't know what I would do without it!!
|
I love my CB too!!! I think I remember having a little problem at 1st just like you are describing.

I'm having the exact same problem. I'm using the postage stamp die and it won't roll through. The handle cranks, but the plates don't move. I've even tried pushing it through. Any advice?

I just kept playing with it, moving the sandwich around and they I also noticed if I sit and try to crank it through it couldn't but when I stand up it worked, I think when I was sitting down I did not have the sandwich straight and was not going through, just play with it, it will work HAVE FUN it is great!~ |
Sometimes I just use a longer piece of paper and put the folder toward the back thus getting the paper started through before the folder begins. Hope this makes sense.

I also bought the cuttlebug today too and have not been able to get it to work. I even returned one to the store and bought a second one thinking it was defective. Same problem as everyone else. I followed the directions in the manual, sandwiched the stamp die with my paper (I used thin printer paper as scrap to try) and tried to roll it through. I got completely stuck once it got to the die. Can't figure it out. I am afraid to put too much pressure on the B plates, that I will break them, though my friend has the cuttlebug kids, so I know to expect the cracking sound when it goes through. Not sure here - got it for 40% off at JoAnn's so I really want it to work.

I found that sometimes the Cuttlebugs are a little tight when they are new. I would give it a little bit of time to "loosen up" by running embossing folder stacks through it for a while. I think you'll find that the dies will work fine after your Cuttlebug gets broken in. I know it's frustrating though! We all want to play right away!

Cuttlebug not cutting properly
I am having difficulties cutting the new intricate Nesties dies. The dies are not cutting in the center eg Exquisite Circles, when cutting all the dies together. I do use wax paper. There seems to be no pressure in the middle only on the sides. Even cutting 1 die I often have to turn the card 90 deg. to cut all sides.
Hope someone has some suggestions. Thanks |
