Cuttlebug HELP!!!

Someone please convince me I DON'T need a cuttlebug...I've seen some of the most gorgeous cards in the gallery lately using the embossing folders and I am DYING to have one...my husband has a pretty strict rule, I can order whatever I want from SU! because I can demo it, BUT I only have one stamp club and that is it. I never do workshops, I only rely on my girls and they are ALWAYS using non-SU! supplies for swaps and stuff, and since they keep my demoship going quite strong, I don't say anything...anyway...

I REALLY REALLY REALLY want a cuttlebug...can anyone tell me I shouldn't get one cuz they stink?

DeniseH 12-19-2006 11:45 AM

I can't speak for the actual machine itself, (I am using all the dies and embossing folders though with my old sizzix) and they are awesome.

jacobsmeemaw 12-19-2006 12:20 PM

Sorry but you really do need the Cuttlebug. I have one and love it with the embossing folders. You can make the cutest cards and so quickly. Tell your husband that you want it for Christmas or your birthday or your anniversary! Whatever it takes.

Stamping in Kansas 12-19-2006 12:36 PM

I bought it with my Michaels 40% off coupon. I confess that I bought it for myself for Christmas and put it in my husband's closet for him to wrap along with two embossing folders. This way I know that at least one gift is something I want and I will have something to play with while the kids and hubby play with their new toys!!

Hee hee, Christmas and my birthday are 4 days apart..maybe I can get him to let it go just this once. I found one on sale for 59$ anyone know if thats a good price?

Charlee 12-19-2006 12:41 PM

Yes, that's a pretty good price. I thing the regular price is $89.99.

TLINDLEY 12-19-2006 01:16 PM

I can't help you. I bought one today with a 40% off coupon at Michael's. It took me all of 5 minutes to fall in love with it. It is way better than the sizzix I used to own

SammyStamper 12-19-2006 01:17 PM

I just ordered mine yesterday for $59.99 online. I don't like going to Michael's so I passed on the coupon war. I couldn't resist any longer. I'm so excited for it to arrive.

mooshie_stamps 12-19-2006 01:25 PM

um... I can't convince you you don't need it either. I think everyone who doesn't already have a big shot needs a cuttlebug! lol! love the embossing folders! and the price is great too! I think Michael's has them for $79.99 and will take coupons on them. so that makes it about $48+tax. I love mine!
have fun convincing DH that you need this! :)
Michelle

Riley'sMama 12-19-2006 01:25 PM

I bought mine at Michael's a couple of weeks ago with a 40% off coupon and then ordered several of the embossing folders from creativexpress.com. It is awesome - you should go for it!

CrazyStampFrog 12-19-2006 01:27 PM

I have never had a die cutter till now--but I would never give this one up! It is awesome and I got it at Mike's for 50% off with a coupon. You need it--get yourself a Christmas Present;)

khewston 12-19-2006 01:42 PM

Chris, you do NEED it! I just bought one and love it. I had a 50% of coupon and couldn't pass up the deal! I say go for it. Tell DH you want it as on of your Christmas gifts.

steph772 12-19-2006 01:43 PM

I used the Mikes coupon today and got it for less than 60 bucks and I got 2 dies to go with it.

Yep, you need one!

Duckwaddlequack 12-19-2006 01:58 PM

Happy early birthday! Mine is 4 days before Christmas! DH got me one for Christmas with the Michael's 40% off which made it a little over $50. I had to have a 'test' run with it when we came home though just to be sure it's something I really wanted. Now I'm sure! Love it and I only ran 4-5 papers through with an embossing folder!

NurseT 12-19-2006 02:01 PM

I used a 50% Joann's coupon at Mikes and got mine for 42.79 I LOVE my cuttlebug.... The embossing folders are awesome!

Duckwaddlequack 12-19-2006 02:02 PM

Ok I guess that wasn't convincing you that you 'don't' need one, was it? How about this: YOU don't NEED to buy yourself one but SOMEONE else NEEDS to buy it for YOU for a 'special occasion' of some sort! :D

Renee O. 12-19-2006 03:48 PM

Ahhhhhh man I want one so bad I can taste it, but I keep telling myself no. Now you girls have gone and done it........I reeeeeaaaalllyyyyy want one nowwwwwwww..........Ok, I know I'm whinning, so where's the cheese?

LodiChick 12-19-2006 05:22 PM

I caved so my advise is sort of hallow, LOL. However, it is like I tell my boys who are 8 and 10, give it 3 weeks and see how you feel. The initial craze will die down and it won't seem so dire to own it. I think about the Rubicoil I had to have that now sits there. However, the price point with a coupon is reasonable and the embossing folders won't clean out your wallet. I have loved the handful of cards I have made with it. If you can't find someone to gift you with one can you share one or borrow one first??
How is that for waffling??!! Best of luck on you choice

bonnie0717 12-19-2006 06:47 PM

well...this answer isn;t going to help you at all....I got one! Its sitting all pretty wrapped under the tree...I know it is!! errr...well...it BETTER be! LOL!!

I convinced my DH that I needed one because my cricut is so lonely! So...another machine to add to the list! LOL!! I have yet to actually hold the little creature but I loved what I saw while drooling over it at michaels and of course here everyone who uses it makes me want it more!

On a logical side...think of all the more expensive things you could get that is non SU! there is always logic to these purchases....right???? LOL!!

Aimee30 12-19-2006 06:51 PM

I just bought my first embossing folder ot use with my sixxiz and I now want more of those to play with... just get one... you know you will love it.

mackbrad 12-19-2006 06:58 PM

How many embossing folders are there - or is an embossing folder one item - I know nothing about this machine - but have loved what I have seen in the gallery!

mackbrad 12-19-2006 06:59 PM

Sorry to hijack your thread......you just got me thinking that maybe I needed one!

WHAT!?!?!?! We can use the embossing folders with our old sizzix? Do tell!!
I'm also struggling with this. My inner Hoarder thinks it needs the new Cuttlebug, but if I can use my old machine and just buy the folders then Hoarder might shut up a minute! :D

Stamp Maniac II 12-20-2006 04:37 AM

Sorry, but you cant live without it!

Jenmouer 12-20-2006 04:40 AM

I am going to break down after the holidays (or maybe on Friday if I get a chance) and buy one....just tooooooo cute....

leeocean 12-20-2006 05:01 AM

Definitely ask for it for Christmas!!!

Hijack:
My DH wanted it to be a surprise and then he asks me the other day -

"What was that thing you wanted again...a cutzilla?"

I was literally in tears laughing about it. I told him it's a "Cuttlebug." He just looked at me and said that I make him order "Kringle Crumb Cake" Coffee at the drive-thru and now he's picking up a "Cuttlebug." :p

Tami Wacek 12-20-2006 05:17 AM

I had one of the 40% off coupons for Michael's and pointed out two things to my husband, who always says I'm difficult to shop for, one being the Cuttlebug. I left the store, he shopped and we met up later. The next day before I went shopping I picked up his coat off the couch and what was there? My Cuttlebug and the other thing a pointed out! When I came home from shopping, my husband was gone and the coat was still there. He called later and said " By the way, don't look under my coat, you're Christmas present is under it." Now I can't let on that I know about it. And all these threads are not helping with my excitement!

cstanka 12-20-2006 06:14 AM

Kris - I've been wanting a cuttlebug for around a month now and I'm REALLY close to buying one online because it seems everywhere in my area is SOLD OUT! At least that tells me that people are lovin' them though! If you get one I'll get one! :)

snowcountry311 12-20-2006 06:38 AM

have it but it's a knew christmas gift. but i say get it w/ a coupon as my dh did.

stephens3181 12-20-2006 08:52 AM

So Michael's will take a Joann's 50% off coupon or a Michael's 40% coupon? I know they don't take the coupons on the Cricut but they will definitely accept it for the Cuttlebug? Wanted to make sure before I made trip over there...

Just what I need - one more tool! Thanks ladies! (ha ha) I am a tool junkie who needs VERY little convincing and I do love embossing so much!!!

Stamping in Kansas 12-20-2006 09:13 AM

I called my Michaels first to make sure they took Joann's coupons. Most of them will but every once in awhile I hear that a certain Mike's won't take competitor coupons. I used a Joann's coupon at Mike's and got my Cuttlebug and two embossing folders for $60.

Kris

steph772 12-20-2006 09:45 AM

You dont even need a coupon at Micheals, I told them I dont get the paper and they gave me the discount.

So go get them, girls! My Mikes only had one left!!!

Did they give you the coupon on all three items? I've never seen them do that before. I am VERY excited now! I think I will wait until January and use some of my Santa money!!!!

Kris,
You are asking a bunch of enablers to help you resist! I am not going to help much either as I got one today for my DH to give to me. Sorry.

Do you sell packs of cards that you make? That could be a reason to get it even though it is not SU.

Good Luck!

Too funny! Your DH is not alone...today my husdand asked if I had picked up the 'bubbleboy' thingy I wanted. Yours at least got the 'cut' part right, mine wasn't even close! Gotta love him!

Yep :)..........I have been using my ancient sizzix (ya know, the one that weighs a ton) with the converter, and it works like a charm on the dies & embossing folders.........:D

leney 12-21-2006 06:45 AM

I have been using the Sizzix with the convertor with my 7 + embossing folders from Cuttlebug. They work Great! But after Christnas I will probably be using my Big Shot that I hope will be under the tree! I have a card in my gallery that I did using the Bloom dots folder and I used my old Sizzix with the convertor!

leney 12-21-2006 06:46 AM

I also forgot I have the sliders and charms dies and they work really well in my Sizzix again with the convertor!
