Default Sizzix & Cuttlebug embossing folders

OK, I have the Cuttlebug embossing folders (A2 size), but the bug hasn't arrived yet. I am really itching to use them. I do have the Sizzix (red) and the adaptor kit. Can anyone tell me how to use my Sizzix with the embossing folders? Oh, and prettend you are explaining it to your 3 year old (LOL!). Thanks so much!

I use the big retangle metal plate that is magnetic and sticks underneath the part that gets squished down. I don't know if it is called an adaptor or not??? Hopefully that is what you have and not those little square things that are as small as the sizzlets and come ten in a pack. Anyway the big magnetic thing works wonderful and I hope this was as clear as mud (LOL)

The adaptor is the big metal magnetic plate, so I have that. How do you stack the paper/folder? And I am assuming you need to use the cutting pad? I am afraid to try it, as I don't want to damage a folder by doing it incorrectly.

Just put your paper in between the folder and put it through the sizzix, with the adaptor. It really is very easy, you might think too easy but that is really all you do.

have fun. I have used my sizzix more in the last month then I have in about a year, since I got my folders.

Oh, BTW, don't panic, but the handle will not go all the way down and when embossing.

On some papers you may only want to push the handle down part of the way (especially thinner paper). I've had some problems with "breaking" the paper when I pushed it too hard and it embossed too deeply. Play with it. You won't break it!

Has anyone ever tried using the "dreamweaver" embossing folders. Those gold embossing plates. The ones you usually have to use with a light box or with the Wizard. If so, what did you use with it to get it to emboss. I have a sizzix and use all the time with the cb folders. BUT would like to get a recipe for the "dream weaver" embossing folders.

I started a blog. My first topic (and only one so far since I'm still trying to figure it out!) is on this topic.
