Default What are the uses for each of these?

I have two different black inks and have no idea what the use for both of them is....
SU! classic basic black
Palette Noir

Also, is VersaMark only used for watermarking? Thanks everyone!

Basic Black is SU's 'permanent' black. Some find it smears when used with solvents like those found in a blender pen or some markers. Those who use markers - or the popular Copics, or an odorless mineral spirit for blending pencils like the Palette Noir.

Versamark is great - so many uses:
- watermarking
- stamp with versamark, then apply embossing powder and heat it with a heat tool
- stamp with versamark, then tap with a liberally loaded chalk/pastel applicator - this technique is called Poppin' Pastels
- stamp with versamark, use white or clear embossing powder & heat set. Then sponge or brayer ink and wipe the ink from the embossed image - which will then show up beautifully

This is the tip of the iceberg - Versamark is a wonderfully versatile product. Check under Resources (upper right corner). If you need help, you can always PM me.

Have fun!

I use the SU classic black for just about everything. I don't know about the black Palette Noir so can't comment there.

Versamark is great for heat embossing. You use embossing powder, I typically use metallic colors. You stamp your image with versamark, which is pretty sticky. Then you shake on the embossing powder, tap off the excess and return it to the container, and then use a heat tool to "melt" the embossing powder.

You can also use Versamark ink and Pearl Ex powder, similar to using embossing powder but you don't heat it.
