Default Are there advantages to having the cuttlebug over the wizard...

I have no problems lifting the wizard, or really moving the dies through it.
Are there any other advantages of having the bug?
I do not scrap so really do not have to move the wizard.

Hello,

I have the Cuttlebug. I have never had a die cut machine before, so I may not be of any help. But I do just love my Cuttlebug, mainly because of the embossing folders. Using them in my cardmaking is fun and looks sooo cool.

Then I would say No for you - I got a bug because I didn't need the hassle of putting a larger/heavier machine away - I literally currently have 2foot by 2foot "desk" to do all my work on - stamping, die cutting etc... so things have to be gotten out and put away to work.

You should be able to use any of the bug dies and folders in your wizard with some fine tuning. The wizard was one of the first cutting edge machines and now the CB can do a lot of the same stuff for a lower price point, so a lot more people are getting a chance to play.

We were playing last weekend, and amongst the oohs and aahs (one girl also brought her Ellison big daddy die cut machine) one girl said "oh well I bet my Wizard could do that, *but I never get it out*
The bug is small enough to fold up and have on your shelf or even desk without you begrudging the space.

But if you already have a wizard, no you don't *need * it.

I have one of the original Wizards that I enjoy (when I actually use it). The Cuttlebug folders work great in it.

do either of these machines take regular embossing plates? I have a whole bunch of brass ones and would like to use them in one of these machines.

You can emboss a brass stencil in the wizard.
