Default Enabler Alert -Purple Cow 2 in 1 combo Paper Trimmer

I was at my local Costco today and found the Purple Cow, 2 in 1 Combo Trimmer for $26.99! This is the same one that sells for $60 at AC Moore and on the Purple Cow website for $69.99! Comes with 3 blades for the rotary cutter and snaps apart for portability.

Purple Cow
2 in 1 Combo Trimmer - 1040

Designed for scrapbooking and card making by avid crafters, the Combo Trimmer features a 13" rotary and a 13" guillotine on the same cutting base. The oversized metal cutting grid is perfect for manipulating large scrapbook paper and for aligning small photos. The rotary includes 3 Click Blades - wave, straight and perforation. The guillotine has a patented paper guide to hold multiple sheets in place and a unique safety blade. The best part is that the two trimmers snap apart for portability and storage. You won't find a more versatile paper trimmer anywhere!

That is a fantastic price. I got one a while ago when they were on QVC - it came w/ a purple tote and was considerably more. Although I LOVE the cutter, I'll never use the tote. It'll end up in a sale or Salvation Army bag soon. If I had a Costco near me, I'd be jealous! Enjoy your great find, and thank you for sharing with others.

I saw this trimmer yesterday at my local Costco. Is it a good trimmer that cuts straight? I only have a Fiskars and am getting frustrated with it.

I almost bought one at Costco a while back. They were selling them at Aldi too (branded Crofton). Then I read the reviews on them. Not so good!

Basically, people found them awkward to use, and the 2 in 1 feature was more of a liability than a plus.

I saw it at Costco too, DH asked if I needed something lik that but I hadn't heard of it so wanted to wait to see what I could learn here. Will follow this thread since I'm still using my old fashioned paperp cutter like the kind we had in grade school lol

I purchased it several months ago and used it in a few classes I taught. Couldn't sell it to anyone. I found it to be a very awkward cutter to use no matter which end I wanted to use. Measuring flat surface is confusing. I also didn't like the way you have to press down on the rotary cutting blade. I found the large plastic guard piece a real pain to have in my way.

I was not impressed and gave it to a friend who would use it.
I had used a 50% to make the purchase, so didn't feel like I lost a lot. If my friend can use it, then I feel better.

Just my opinion.
