Question New Orange fiskars trimmer ??

Anyone tried the new orange fiskars paper trimmers?

I have the old fiskars and it doesn't cut straight and I keep going back to it because it's small and light and I can shove it in my bag. But I would like something better. And I have a pile of trimmers I've bought and not loved.

I have the cutterpede and I like it but if I don't press down hard it doesn't cut right and it's a bit big.

So the latest thing I've seen is the orange fiskards trimmers. One is about $20 and looks like a replacement for the old gray fiskars trimmer. The other one is about $40 and was on QVC yesterday and is a rotary trimmer but it didn't look like you had to press too hard to get it to cut. But it did look a bit big.

So this is my long winded way to say, has anyone tried these trimmers and what do you think about them?

I have a great idea for all of us that like the portable Fiskars but it doesnt cut straight I think I am going to email them with this idea....They need to make the plastic ruler part steel on the portable one because its the plastic that tends to bend when you slide the cutter down it....I cant believe they havent done that yet....

I think they think that their new triple track design will fix that problem. I don't have one with that design so I don't know if it's better.

I'm really trying to decide between the personal orange one and the slightly larger rotary one. I think the rotary one will cut through multiple sheets of paper, which I could use.

I don't know about the orange Fiskars trimmer but as for the triple-track IMO it's only a slight improvement over the old black or gray trimmers. You still have to be careful 'cause it can/will cut crooked and I'm sure it's that darned plastic arm that's the bulk of the problem. Plus it goes through blades like crazy.

about the blade thing...

i have a tendency to only push the blade away when using. the last time it got dull i took it out and turned it around and put it back in and wha-la... like a new blade.

i may be one of the last ones to figure this out but thought it was worth sharing in case not!

I have used it!! I love it!! The new orange rotary one. I have bought the extra rotaries as well. I have the perforated, scoring, wavy, scalloped and deco. It cuts straight, even the tinest piece seems to go straight. It's not a flimsy as the grey one, I love it, but don't quote me because whatever works for me may not work for u. Go to you local LSS and ask to use it. That's what I did. It was Love at first sight!!
