Cricut Create
 

I have been looking at the available Cricut machines-original, create and expressions and I have finally decided that I like the Create the best. But, why is it exclusive to Michaels? I hate that I can't find it anywhere but there and they never let you use coupons on Cricut items!
Does anyone have one? I thought I liked the Expression, but it seems too big to take to crops if I was going to one(which I am in 2 weeks for a whole weekend! Yeah!). And the Create cuts up to 11.5 inches and I think that size is what would work for me the best.
What do you think??? Anybody selling one or know where I could get one besides Michaels??

Stacie......The Cricut Create is exclusive to only Michaels. I have no idea why, but I guess that's an agreement between Provo and Michaels.

I have the original Cricut and the Expression. Both I can highly recommend. I've seen the Create, but not really read much about it.

Realize that the 11.5 iches is using a 6x12 inch mat, so it's not square.

You're correct, the Expression is a large machine and since it doesn't have any kind of handle, I think it was meant to stay put on a desk and not portable. The original Cricut is a bit less in size and weight and does have a carry handle.

I would suggest reading what the Provo website says about each of the machines and making your decision from that. Only you can know exactly the needs you have for the machine. Think about exactly what you would be cutting in terms of size of die cut. Consider the other functions of each machine and decide if you would really use those functions.

Also, would you eventually be interesed in purchasing the Design Studio or Juke Box. I have no idea if the Create is able to accomodate either of these additional craft tools. I've not read up on it that much.

Okay- now you really have my curosity...

My LOVING DH has said that I can get the Cricut Expression, but now that I see this and the smaller size of the machine but with the capacity to cut the bigger sizes has got me wondering...

Do you have to purchase different cart. for it or use the ones that are for the original and Expression?

What is the price for the machine itself?

I am definitely interested in the Design Studio for sure. You seem to know about both machines. What is the difference in the original Cricut and the create? I see that the original Cricut cuts to 5.5" and the Create is 11.5". If both machines are the same size, then why would I get the Create at Michaels when I can get the original cricut for much less? Am I missing something??

Sort of a hijack, but I just read a thread in General Stamping, and someone has a copy of the Michael's ad for Thanksgiving Day. Apparently, the Cricut Create will be on sale that day only from 6-9 PM for $149.00. Apparently, the cartridges will be on sale for 29.99 each. Just trying to enable! LOL!

SO what would you get the Expression or the Create?

I have the orginal and 25 cartridges...it is more than adequate for my needs....I hope you can get some assistance with your decision.

I am pretty sure the Create is the smaller bug with the functionality of the Expression (with the exception that you are limited to 6 X 12 cutting mat.) I think you can swap carts, reverse, mirror, etc. You can't do some of these things on the baby bug. The Expression will allow you to cut up to 12 X 24. You can use the Design Studio and the Jukebox....the Jukebox acts like a single cart....and you can use up to 6 carts....

Stacie, on the original 5.5 refers to how wide of paper that can be cut. It also cuts 11.5 long. I believe the create cuts the same width and length as the original. The create has different options than the original, the options are the same ones as the expression except for the size of paper that can be cut. Only the expression can cut 11.5 square.;

I think that I still want the Expression. Even DH said go with the one you want- just because it's cheaper doesn't mean you can get both- Aggg not fair MEN. :rolleyes: :D

Thanks to all for responding. I still don't know what I want, but I think I am leaning toward the Create!!
