I would use cardstock as the base. I would think the page would become flimsy if you just mounted pics on DSP or something??

And yes, you could use 2 sheets of CS back to back. That is the joy of a top loading album...you can pull the pages out and rearrange them!

I would think that heavy embellishments would be the main culprit of an album's inability to close properly, not 2 pieces of CS in the protector. But I do use CM albums, so maybe I am way off base here...

Yes!! You can use any cardstock or paper that you'd like!! There are no rules to scrapbooking, as long as it is acid-free. Anyone that says anything otherwise doesn't know much about the hobby. LOL!!

Hope that helps!

Robyn, you mentioned earlier that the princess carts have tiny details and that those carts are best used with the ebug. Is that because the ebug cuts details better or is it that the ebug can cut larger princesses and thus the details cut better? If it is the latter, I wonder if the new software will allow us to turn the princess and cut a larger princess. If it is just that the ebug cuts details better, I may be looking at the good deals that are coming out.

I'm looking for the best price on Paper Dolls too. Anybody have the link to get to Kim's site or any other links for good prices. I saw a preorder on Custom Crops(I think) for $54.99 including shipping. I thought that was a good price but didn't want to wait for the preorder thing. Iris

I think, double check this the memory is going, that Kim was selling as a pre-order for Paper Dolls for $52.50 including shipping. I don't have the link. If no one posts it soon, run a search for Kim as I know it has been posted on this thread several times.

I have done all the research, but I can't find the information that I am looking for. I have found so much valuable info though. Great thread!

Does anyone now if the Expression will cut in 1/4" increments? Like say could I cut a 4 1/4" Square.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about Custom Crops for Paper Dolls but Kim has them for $57.50 including shipping. You can only order them on preorder right now. Nobody has them in stock yet. Some of us own the Paper Dolls because we got them in the AC Moore bundle.

As for the Princess carts. PC recommends them to use with the Ebug but you definitely can use the small bug for them. Some of the cuts are very small so, yes, it does help to cut them in larger sizes.

HTH!

Don't know if anyone needs a cuttlebug, but they are on sale at creativexpress.com for $35. Don't know what the shipping is. It might be less expensive to go to Michael's with the coupon.

Which cart has the scalloped circle? I thought someone said Mini Monograms, but when I looked at the back of the package at the store, I don't see a scalloped circle.

Mini Monograms has a scalloped circle and a scalloped square. See the attached PDF. I also saved the PDF as a JPG but had to resize it to fit the guidelines so it's quite a bit smaller. (But also a smaller file size if you have dial up.)

Thanks Kimberly! Looks like I'm overdue for an eye exam...

I've heard this one was going to be discontinued, so I want to grab it before it does.

You bad, bad people giving the weak minded like me ideas! I kept telling myself that I wasn't going to need the Expression that I was perfectly happy with my baby bug. With the new software, I really wasn't going to need the ebug. Well, guess who bought herself an Expression today! I wasn't going to, really. I was just calling to see if any stores were having a sale. The lady at Michael's said it's not on sale, but bring your coupon. I couldn't believe it! I was so excited that I bought it. I haven't gotten it out of the box yet, but hope to in the next few hours. I should have a lot of fun over Thanksgiving!

Awesome!! You are going to have so much fun with it. I have both bugs but only use the ebug now. I know you will be totally happy with the regular one. You will never know what you are missing until you play with the big one.

I believe you can read about the software on the Cricut website or Provo Craft website. I don't have the link and can't find the info at the moment. It is going to be great and very helpful.

Right now you can get a variety of them amazingly cheap at http://www.creativexpress.com/shop/home.php?cat=1441. If you buy 4 or more you get them for $27 each with is over 50% off. I normally get them for $50-55 from various online sources.

I second what Robyn said. I think that you will be more than happy with the baby bug. I needed to be able to do a few bigger projects here and there otherwise, I would have stuck with the baby bug. I also had a mother who I thought would really enjoy the baby bug as well. It was a good transition to give her my baby bug and to buy me the ebug.

Have fun with your new Cricut!

you'll love the baby bug and if down the road you figure youhave to have the big one you can sell the little one and step up. I love my bug and I imagine I will eventually buy the big one, but right now I am happy buying the software and more carts.

OMG...they let you use a coupon!!! Awesome!!! Congrats!

You can preorder it from Kim for $60. I belive everyone else is selling it for $89. I haven't ordered it yet. I think I am going to ask for it for Christmas or see how you all like it first. I don't use my computer around my Cricut too much and we are having problems with the laptop.
