If you read Robyns post about her E-Bug. you'ld get it just for the

1.size difference,
2. the amount of paper your going to save,
3. the 8 way blade direction adjustment and
4. the 1/4" cutting differences.

At least that is what is most tempting to me.

I think that is a pretty good deal Imaginations isnt even being released until Dec 1st. I think its a great price. and you'll be one of the first to get Stretch your Imaginations, and you get Accent Essentials sampler cart.
I have already decided to get the ebug. I had just planned on waiting til I sold & shipped out my old stuff. And yes, I meant "thisclose" (LOL!). I also thought I would get a better deal buying it around Thanksgiving (some of the estores had great deals last year). The AC Moore deal sounds really good, too. I guess my question is: should I do the AC Moore deal or wait til Thanksgiving?

Default Extras?

I know I will need to get the larger size mats with the ebug. It looks like they have the 6x24 and 12x24. Which of these do you use most frequently? I would like to order some extras to have on hand, because I don't have any craft stores near me.

Do you find the blades wear out faster if you are cutting chipboard? Am I correct in my assumption that both bugs use the same blades?

Anything else I should consider ordering?

I don't know. I think that if you have enough money I would get it now. That is an awesome deal from AC Moore! I love everything about the Expression!!

It is two weeks away, but the price fell to 299 a few weeks ago. And the lower price on the old cricut was fueled by the new cricut. I dont think there is a new cricut in the works. I think this is the best price you are going to get. Unless you wait for those carts to drop in cost later. then the 299.00 is the best right now.

The lowest we have seen is 299.00 I believe at hallmark but that doesnt include the other two carts.
If you bought those carts from kim they would be 100 plus the markers another 13-15. Plus you would have more shipping. So I think this is a great deal, If you really want paper pups and Stretch your imagination if not I'ld do the 299 deal, I suppose it might drop another 45-50, but I dont think it will go much lower until next year. WHen they drop that low I am sure it will not include free shipping. So thats another 20-30$ to consider.

I think this should say 12x12.

Everyone has been asking PC to make a tougher blade, but blades really havent been an issue for me. I know the E-bug comes with 1-12X12.
some people say they have had problems withthe one that comes withthe machine. you might want to order a set of them just incase you get a bad one then you can still use it while you wait for the replacement to come.

I figure you need at least 2 or 3 mats, only becasue that seems to be the number you need with the old cricut. I think the larger mat is neccesary if you want to make bigger TBBM Boxes and purses. No one has really said which of the mats they use more. Good question?

Anyway, I finally made one of those name frames for my son, and I used the Cricut to cut out the thin chipboard and patterned paper for the letters in his name. It was super easy and fast to do! I think I had a harder time finding thin chipboard that would work in the Cricut, lol!

Carol: your name frame is beautiful! I just love how we can personalize the frames to fit the room decor.

I ordered the ebug through AC Moore yesterday. It shipped yesterday, and I should have it on Tues. I also stocked up on the bigger mats. I can't wait to start playing with it.

I'm jumping in with y'all! Our local AC Moore offered that bundle deal with the Expression, 4 carts and markers for $377, so I grabbed it! I've been reading the posts on this thread to see what the hoopla was about the Cricut and it didn't take long for me to see I had to have one! I thought for that price that the machine was going to be the small Cricut - imagine my surprise when it turned out to be the big one! I've made a few cards with it and it's fun to watch it cut!

Thanks, everyone, for sharing such awesome projects! I'm inspired!

I went today to buy the Expression Bundle at AC Moore, the more I read here the more I wanted it. The lady in Scrapbooking thought they were all gone. I figured I'd just go home and order it online, oh well, no immediate satisfaction, but that's ok. She then started looking and found they had moved them. Yea! I got my Expression! I just like the idea of the bigger cuts!

I guess I'll need to find a home for my small Cricut now.

I ordered the AC Moore Cricut Expression bundle on Wed. and it is due to be delivered on Monday (Nov. 12) . Can't wait to use it! I've had my small Cricut for only a few weeks but soon realized that I really wanted to cut larger "stuff". I am hoping that the markers pictured in the ad for the Expression are in fact, included in the bundle as they were not mentioned in the text. I thought the price was good with only $5 shipping and 2 extra cartridges although if given a choice, I probably would not have chosen Paper Pups although it is cute. So far, my favorite cartridges are Speaking of Fall and Speaking of Winter. (And of course, ZOOBALLOO!). Then there is Walk in My Garden and the 2 Christmas cartridges....What can I say, I love them all! Just finished making (and filling with candy) 100 little (3 inch) nut cups using Tags, Bags, Boxes and More and Speaking of Fall cartridges. They will be table favors at our monthly church lunch tomorrow.

Sounds like fun! Speaking of winter has tempted me because I love snowman and snowflakes. You'll have to post something you make when you get a chance.

Okay ladies don't laugh, but today is the first I have heard of the Circut. I was watching TV this morning and they were showing it and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. I don't do a whole lot of scrapbooking but I do love to make cards and gifts, would this be worth it? I haven't used any kind of die-cut item at all, would this be easy to use? Any information you have would be great.

Thanks

My DH bought me a Cricut for Christmas and I got it now since it was on sale at Michael's. I feel a bit overwhelmed about how to get started. But I already have the feeling I will become addicted and need more cartridges. I've been trying to read the thread about what cartridges to get and the best place to get them.
Anyways just wanted to subscribe to the thread.

I love to make cards, and I use my Cricut all the time for it. I LOVE my Cricut. It's very easy to use and tons of fun. You can see some of our creations in some of our galleries and on our blogs.

You can view a demo of the Cricut on www.cricut.com. It really is FUN!

Welcome to the thread. There are so many cartridges. You should just get them based on your likes and dislikes. I have 16 carts, and I like and use some more than others. The carts are *very* addictive ... as is playing with the machine. I hope you really enjoy it and make a ton of fun things with it!!!! Show us what you create when you get a chance.

great answers shell:

I use my cricut mostly for cards right now but I make the occasional book and gift items with it. i plan on Scrapbooking more when my youngest is in school. I like my carts I only have 14, I agree with Shell it's a personal preference thing only you know what you will use.
There are some being discontinued and most places have them discounted because of it. If you wanted any of them I would put them higher on the list because as they get harder to find they will definately get more expensive.

I just checked AC Moore's website for the $300 Expression and the cheapest I found was $369. Is the deal over now?

Try changing your speed or pressure levels. Also, it could be your blade. I find that a new blade cuts the very best. It's hard to tell when you need to change it. Those are just 2 suggestions. The others on here may have more ideas on how to fix it or what it is.

I'm not sure which ones they are. I'm pretty sure that Christmas Cheer, Animal Kingdom, and Celebrations are 3 of them, but I can't remember what others ones there are. Maybe Base Camp, Mini Monograms, and Beyond Birthdays???? I don't know.

New Arrival, Paper Pups and Stamped are discontinued at the local Wal-Mart. (I think Stamped was also on clearance at the local Michael's too.)

Thanks! I'm still reallly new to all this, so I don't know which carts are new and which have been around a while. And I didn't know that Wal-Mart sold Cricut, too!

Where is an inexpensive site to buy from? Our AC Moore has all carts on sale for $50 each (including the Disney ones) this week, but they don't have a big selection. I want to make sure to get a few of the ones that are being discontinued!

cut the stars at a slower speed maybe. They sometimes are more intricate, also make sure the whole sheet of paper is attached to the mat well. sometimes they'll tear if the paper is not adhered down, evenly. HTH
