Default a couple questions

OK, what is the deal with the markers? can someone explain them to me?

And is there a case/bag that fits the Expression? Sometimes I have to travel with it...you know, to show off to my cricut-deprived friends

i swear i had a couple more questions, but i can't remember them for the life of me!

TIA
Jen

I sold Tear Drop to a friend a couple of months ago to help pay for my Paper Dolls bundle. I think I might eventually get Printing Press but first I will preorder Stretch and the software.

Hi Jen.

The pens are just for drawing instead of cutting. You put them in where the blade goes and they write the picture. I haven't really seen them in action yet but I know Kathy made something with them on her blog.

If you go to www.cricut.com then to the community there is a Cricut Expression forum where some of the girls are talking about a bag that fits the Expression.

Hope that helps!

Great card Betty, I left a comment.

Jen the markers are fun. I have used them to make two cards so far.

you replace the blade to use a marker, If you hit load paper after drawing with the marker you can then replace the blade and hit repeat last. It will cut out the object with a very thin outline. I did that with "its your day". The other way you can use it is to just draw. I did that with my mickey cart. I find I dont use it enough because of all the layers. I drew daisy with brown and then used watercolor pencils and an aqua painter to color her in I think it came out nice and I will definately use both methods again. I only got the brown(2) and black(3) markers. I kept one of each and gave the rest away.
I am not sure how I would use the colored ones yet though. I got my markers at walmart for 14.97+tx.

I just preordered Stretch Your Imagination & Locker Talk from Kim!!!! I had an extra $100 from selling something on the bay last week. I just thought that I should order those now instead of waiting until I spent all my money. I am going to ask my mom for the software for Christmas and maybe another cart for my birthday. This should keep me set for awhile. Of course, I do want Doodletype eventually!! I'm so glad my DH supports this hobby!! He actually sees me using my Cricut everyday! How can he argue with that??

Hi all,

I was wondering if you have any tips for cutting out centered images to printed cardstock? I'm making Snowman soup tags for my craft fair and I'd like to print out the poem on the cardstock with my computer printer, then use the Cricut to cut out the circles. I don't have a circle punch large enough, and I'm too lazy to cut them out individually! I have a bunch I want to cut out.

TIA!

Which cricut do you have?

The only way I could think of to cut it on the small one(the one I have) is to precut the circle the size you want on a template and then type it in your computer to line up with the template. So if 3 circles fit on the sheet then cut three circles out. If you hit and cut each individually a bigger gap is between the cuts so its important you cut the template exactly like you plan to cut the circle after you print them. You would always have to have the first load be where you cut from to make it work. Otherwise the cut varies alot.
with the expression I think it lets you center it, but I am uncertain how it works.

I use my CM circle cutters for stuff like that. HTH

Good Morning Cricuteers!

I am home from the dentist. Yeah!

I need to finish up the laundry and vacuum a little but I might get to play today. Might go do some shopping too, if I can figure out the afterschool car shuffle dynamics. I am going to play with Zoobaloo today though. I havent used it enough.

Hi Kathy!!

I NEED to get my floor mopped but I keep ending up back here on the computer today!!! I just would rather talk Cricut & stamping then do manual labor!!

I played with my bug last night and have about 28-30 pages ready to put together at my swarm. I think I will have 50-75 by November 10th.

Did you read that I preordered Stretch Your Imagination and Locker Talk?? I got a shipping notice from Kim today but I'm not sure which one she is shipping. I didn't think either would be here until December 1st.

What I do is decide on the size of the shape that will fit the saying. On the computer, type your message and visualize it on the size of the shape that you want the printing to come on. Then print the saying out on regular paper. Take your cut out shape and ahhere it over the saying on the computer paper and try to center it by looking at the back of the printed page. You could pretty much see the outline of the saying. Then run that page through the printer and the saying will be on your cut out shape. Be sure to use repositionable adhesive so you can easily lift the shape off the page. I Hope this makes sense. It really works.

I think it was Happy Scrappin' Scrapbooking but that is the only store that had it available. Everyone else had to wait until the official release date. Custom Crops has Cuttin' Up.

Default Let me enable newbies...like myself!

Hi Ladies!

I am sure everyone has the carts that creativexpress.com has on sale, but they are selling specified carts for 37.50 each. Of course, since I don't really even "own" my Cricut yet...and literally have nothing...I had to buy 5 carts!!! (I got Jasmine, Base Camp, Stamped, MM, and Opposites Attract...how did I do?)

First off, how sad is it that I have purchased carts without even really "owning" the machine! (OK, we all know it is arriving with the sled and reindeer...but the concept is funny to me!)

And two, wasn't that a great deal!!

Oh, but I did not stop there: I also purchased 10 embossing folders for the C-Bug I don't have (yet!!!) either because they had a special on those too!!!

I think I need help of some sort...LOL!!

Awesome!!! Sounds like me! Before I even knew my DH bought me the Cricut I had bought a cart on ebay and it arrived before my machine. Have fun with your carts when you get your bug!

Thanks for the help on the markers...i thought that is what they would do but I just couldn't believe it...It is like that little machine has a brain in there! Wow.

Going to look at the forums on cricut.com to see about the storage. You gals are so helpful.

Oh that makes sense. I think that will be easier than trying to get my printout to line up with the Cricut. I have the Expressions by the way. There is a centering tool but it might be more time consuming that to do it Helene's way.

Thanks all!

Custom Crops was shipping it early too because that is where I found out what was on the cartridge. When I looked it up there (after reading about it on the cricut MB) it said that it was going to start shipping the next week. I think they started shipping them on the 20th or 24th of September. I've never been to Happy Scrappin' Scrapbooking before. I may have to check it out though.

Congrats on getting a great price on those cartridges. You will definately be prepared to play with your bug when you get it now! I hope the wait isn't too long for you. I'm not sure I would be that patient.

Thanks all!

Oh, the center point feature on the Expression is totally easy!! I will do a video tutorial with it on my blog tomorrow if I have time. It takes a second and I love it!!

I've never been to Happy Scrappin' Scrapbooking before. I may have to check it out though.
Thanks Amy!! I'm super excited now to get this so soon!! I wasn't expecting it for another month!!! Yippee!!

Can't wait to see what you do with it! I want that one too. I need to preorder paper dolls and then figure out which cartridge will be next.

That happened to me, too. I was going to get Alphalicious, but they were out, so I got Printing Press. Now I'm glad, because I soooo love Printing Press!

I think so, lol. I love that you can put the letters in the blocks, have plain letters, or tall ones. Love it!

I love both of them, and have used them both a bunch since getting them recently. I love the style of Printing 101, too.
