Kimberly
You know, I might have him meet me there so I can go home and play! I leave right when the kids get home from school and we are out until 7:00 pm. Makes for a long night. Thanks for the idea!

I played with it a little bit tonight. I think it will take some getting used to. I am so close with my baby bug. He just sat there and stared at me while I played with my new toy. LOL. It's fun to give them some personality isn't it? Anyway, the ebug is very big!! The mat was way too sticky and the blade it came with was dull so I replaced it. I'll play around with it a little bit tomorrow night. Can you believe I have to have a root canal tomorrow by my DH the Endodontist??? At least he is giving me laughing gas. I'll need it!

You're right Robyn. The e-bug is BIG! That is surely going to take some getting used to for me. I don't have the sticky mat problem - possibly the opposite. I have to play around a little more with the pressure, but I wonder if it is the blade. I was had trouble with it cutting SU cardstock. I didn't have that trouble with my baby bug. I figured I just needed to mess with it more and haven't had the time.

Good luck tomorrow with the root canal!

I haven't decided if I am keeping the small one for portability. I am going to hang on to my little bug for now. I will go take a pic now before I head to bed so that you can see.

Okay, here you go! I thought I would include one of the e-bug open too. Look at all of those buttons! I really like that the directional buttons to move the blade go in all directions, even diagonally. And the amount of space the blade moves with each push of the button is very small compared to the larger move the blade makes on the baby bug. It is a bit overwhelming - lots more to learn, but I am positive that it will be worth it!
Kathy I promise I will try to give my baby bug some love this weekend. Maybe I will use it when Molly is trying out the e-bug. Can't get too distracted though. I must keep my eyes on it at all times.

The first thing I noticed, I love that the On button is not used to open and shut the thing . How handy is that. I like the smaller increment thing you mentioned and the diagonal movement . Does it merge letters like the software? Is that an option or not?

Based on what I've read on the Provo Craft blog, you still need the software to merge letters and shapes, etc.

The carts pretty much do the same thing as on the old. I do like the quantity button where you don't have to punch that key a million times. You can also hit "auto fill" and the machine will automatically cut as many of that object as will fit on the page.

There are a couple of things I do not like about the big bug but I am hoping over time I will get used to them.

What do you not like, Robyn?? Since my mom was asking if I wanted that for Christmas, I want to know if I will like it as much as I do my baby bug.

One major thing is that it takes longer for the characters to compute and show up on the screen before it will cut. I'm so used to the instant gratification and I am not that patient. Maybe this is what I need to learn patience! Also, the 12x12 mat is very wavy. My paper isn't flat on it. Hopefully that was just the mat that came with it and not in all the 12x12 mats. I will play with it more tonight and find more positive things I like.

I know I have seen things cut larger than that.

Do you use the scrapper to adhere your paper to the mat & flatten it out? I know the mats in the store are flat. i've seen the 12x24 it is huge. so are the pads of paper that size.

Hmmmmm .... ok. Keep me posted. I really want the big one, but not if I'm not as happy with it as I am with the baby.

I think she means that you can't merge, weld, rotate (or anything like that). It does cut bigger, but that's a function of the machine and not the cart.

Also I am liking the Vinyl for making decorative signs. I really want to order some of that.

I don't think that my Joann's even has Cricuts anymore. I sure haven't seen the paper there.

That black and white pad sounds really cool!

It would also be cool to make the vinyl paper dolls ... then they could just stick the clothes and stuff on. That would be a cool gift .... *thinking*

I love my little Cricut, I am not sure I would like the big one as well. What are the differences besides it cuts bigger?
