Yep, loving this machine! *dreamy sigh* Ok, I'll quit chirping -- I just wanted to share with you all because you know what the excitement is all about! I'm hoping to browse the threads and see if I can find some good tips on using it.

Kelly Welcome to out little island of zoobaloo! Isn't it a great little machine! I am not sure how we ever lived with out it! Look forward to seeing more of your great work! Great card too by the way

I followed the link to the cricut thread posted and the lady said she used pipsqueak markers and a rubber band to secure it in place. she said you could find a longer screw and that would work she posted the flower and thanks she had drawn using george. It looks cute, but if we can't line up the chip board to multi cut it how would you line up the drawing to re-cut it. But if you can re-cut where you draw then you ought to be able to re-cut chip board right.

Hi All! I am subscribing... I finally caved in... and my mom and I went in together to get the Cricut after seeing it cut and Draw yesterday in QVC... I had ordered a Craft Robo earlier in the week too, *sigh* ... I will let mom keep the Cricut at her house... and the Craft robo at mine... I am just glad we will have the best of both worlds now... Looking forward to getting the Cricut... and trying out all the cool Features.

I'm new to the Cricut scene so you are talking Greek to me with the "Z" word. I'll have to see what Zooballoo is now!

It's just the most versatile cart made so far!!!! You need it, really you do ....

I didn't think I wanted the pens until I saw the demo. You were right about drawing then cutting. It looked really neat. And they showed some titles done in the markers and layered. And it is another exclusive cartridge. I only have three (no, I don't have zoobaloo yet!) so that does not upset me since there are plenty of them out there for me to get!!!
We have had a busy weekend so I have had no time to scrap. Hopefully tomorrow!

Lisa

It's a great, great cartridge!!!!! I love it. Can you tell???

I know. I'm not sure what companies are thinking sometimes when they introduce new products that quickly.

I've thought of that. I've sent something back through the machine to cut the 2nd time. Why couldn't we do that with chipboard???

Morning ladies, a nice day here again today. Didn't get any cricuting done yesterday, spent time outside with the kids instead, played basketball and baseball, went for a walk... they love to be outside! I am off to the city today to go to the dentist, and the doctor, and this will be the last day off for a while, they should start seeding today at the farm!

I went with my hubby to check the cows on some new parture we bought last night, just before sunset. I missed the perfect picture becaue I didn't have my camera . Hubby was standing looking at his cows, and the sun was settign behind him, looked so cool, geuss you never know where you will need a camera

Have a good day

So I caved and got the Zoo cart! Mikes took the LSS coupon for the $44.88 so I couldn't pass it up.

The animals are so cute I was thinking of making an alpha book for a co workers young child. Has anyone done this? any tips? Would you just put in any pictures with those animals and letters??

To get it to cut in the same spot don't unload the paper. Instead when it is done cutting hit load last and it will go back to the same spot and cut exactly the same. I have done that when I forgot to change the pressure and knew it didn't cut through. If you unload the whole mat it is impossible to get it to cut in the same spot. Looked like they used the load last feature without taking the mat out when they cut out the flower they drew on QVC.

Where is everyone, I want to see some post of what people made with thier cricuts this weekend. Somebody had to make something! right? Otherwise I am going to have to go make something to post and I am just a tad busy today. My oldest DD turned 23 on Sat, "Cinco De Mayo", Which I ,attn:RACHEL, celebrated by buying WIMG And ZOO (two celebrations 2 carts . My cart list is down to 1 of the old ones OA and maybe 2-3 of the new ones( I am still not sure how I feel about them,KWIM). I don't know how that happened. I just want to send out a big thank you for all of your enablinazation (my word). Could be EnablinaZOOtion, if we wanted to add to the ZOOBALOO Dictionary.

Thats too bad Connie.
My SIL says put a disposable in your glove box, just encase you're in a n accident and you need to document it. She said it saved her friend from being sued once, she was sued and the company was claiming the damage was her fault. Turns out they were claiming damage for a totally different vehicle, but if you did that you'ld always have a camera with you.. and never miss one of those shots.

Okay I tried it. When I hit load last leaving the paper in it just stays where it is at. It does not load if paper is loaded in it.
SO I tried, unloading and setting it to where the marker left a spot when it loaded it was still a bit off.
Then I tried just putting the board in the upper corner and cutting then unloading and reloading. that got the closest. It is still a teeny tiny bit off. I used a piece of cereal box cut to 6 x 10.5" The blade at full pressure actually cut through it most of the way on the first cut. the second cut looked okay and with a little sanding would work just fine. and since you most likely have to sand it after painting it or mounting paper to it this is probably the best option.
Since I have pip squeaks I also tried using one of them and holding it with a rubber band it worked quite well, but I did not try to cut it out maybe I will try that in a minute, but I don't know since I unstuck it from the mat. I have more pics for another upload but three is the most it would allow.

the last of the pictures...
NOTE I still have not convinced myself that you can cut exactly ontop of the marker close enough to say it will be better than sponging it, but I will try that later tonight I have a B-Day to do and teachers conferences at two different schools.

Looked like they used the load last feature without taking the mat out when they cut out the flower they drew on QVC.
This is not true for my machine... When you hit load last in this circumstance my machine does nothing... Does this work for anyone else..Just curious. I got my machine early on. If they've edited the software to allow the machine to do this might be why it cricutII.

Sorry!! I am going to have to try it out tonight. Maybe it was repeat last. I have to start dinner so I can't go check it out right now, but I know I got it to repeat the cut without unloading the mat. I thought the demo on QVC was the same way. Do they have those on their site?
I will let you know later tonight. Sorry again!!!

Maybe you girls can help me! I am so on the fence about getting this machine. I love the *thought* of what it can do but am unsure of how much I would use it and if another machine would better fit the bill.

I'm a scrapbooker first and then card and gift maker. Oh, I don't know!

How well does it really work with SU! cardstock? Also - can you join script letters to make cursive? Does it cut anything other than paper?

Thanks in advance!

Oh and I wanted to add - would it be better to get the first one or pre-order the second one?

Get it !!! I'm a scrapper first and second and third .. that card making thing just doesn't work for me. I have used mine for mostly letters and some shapes - I can so see it replacing the need to sticker letters and lots of punches. I have used mine w/ all brands of cardstock and it works fine .. the first model cuts paper only but, the 12x12 Expressions is supposed to be able to cut chipboard .. but, I've never used it and it's not that important of a feature. I think you'd really love one if you got one!

Ok, I figured it out! To get it to cut in the same spot cut what you want, do not unload the mat. Just hit the load paper button again and it will bring the blade back to the corner. THEN hit repeat last and cut and it will cut in the exact same spot. I knew I had done that in the past! I thought I was loosing my mind!
Ok, now to get the kids to bed so I can scrap!
Have a great night ladies!
