Default Big Shot/Nestabilities compatibility

Hi everyone
still going thru sticky above but was hoping someone could answer as I'm eager to order. I have an older big shot, so I'm assuming I need to purchase a "multi-purpose pad" to uses cuttlebug embossing folders or Nestabilities? I was just trying to use the standard thicker plate and two thins with the Big shot and embossing folder and no go (either too thick/too thin no matter what combo I tried). I'd really appreciate any feedback. Thanks
Leigh

Hi
I have the older Big Shot and have no trouble with CB folders or Nestabilities. For the CB folders, I just put the thick white pad on the bottom, clear plate, CB folder with paper, clear plate and roll through. For Nesties, I use thick white pad, a thin black rubber mat (I think it came with some texturz plates or something), clear plate, nesties (cutting side up), paper, clear plate. To emboss, I take the thin black rubber mat off of the thick white pad, put it on top of the paper with the Nestie under it, and put the clear plate on top of that and roll through. Clear as mud? I will say that not everyone's machine is the same and some are looser/tighter than others, so what I use may not be what your machine uses. You just have to play around a little to get it just right.

HTH,
Connie

I just went ahead and purchased the multiplatform and the spellbinder tan self healing mat. Joann.com and ritzcamera.com carry both including the sizzix Silicone Rubber mat. Like Connie said you do not need anything special to use the cuttlebug embossing folders which are great.
