Default Help! Glass block etching!

Ok ladies! You guys seem to have tried it all and seen it all so please help me out here! Someone uploaded some terrific looking blocks recently, of which, some were etched. She says she followed the tutorial from here on SCS. Ok...so far so good...I know what to do...but here's the problem.... the glass block has cracked!....Twice!!! That's right....two blocks and both cracked....
Why? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help!

At what point are they cracking? Are you sure they were not cracked when they were bought?

They are cracking during the embossing step..while they are being embossed (which, by the way, takes forever for the EP to melt :()
And yes...pretty sure they weren't cracked before buying :(

Ok... here is the deal... go SLOW with the heat tool... it will take a long time.... and if the class block is heated too quickly it will crack! do not put the tool too close and just go slow and easy... might take 5 min or more... keep the heat tool moving. Also look for glass with no bubbles... those bubbles will make the cracking more likely. Good luck!

Good to know!!! I'm sorry that you had to go through this but I'm glad you asked the question.
