Default Crafter's Companion Foiling Machine

Enabler Alert -

Crafter's Companion is coming out with their version of a Press and Go Foil machine. Sara Davies did a Facebook Live video that you can see on their Facebook page. I didn't watch the whole thing as Sara's energy is a little too much for me but the gist of it is, it works with both the full and junior size Gemini's BUT comes with the appropriate mat for the Junior only; if you want to use it with the full-size then you need to purchase a separate mat.

It will foil and foil and cut. I find Sara to speak fast and a bit disjointed so I was confused on things such as: can other brands' foil be used and can you use any die.

It's going to be the Today's Special on HSN for Tuesday, 11/6, however, they will be kicking it off early, at 10p (EST) on Monday, 11/5. She wouldn't say want the price would be.

Thanks for the enabling! Got the Gemini junior for Christmas last year--Now have this year's gift--DH just has to wrap it up
After watching the demos on HSN, I'm looking forward to using it to foil any of my word die-cuts--so much potential!

I believe any brand of heat-activated foil can be used and likewise, any brand of hot foil stamp or die could be used.

What about dies? Do they have to be specially made for foiling?? I have the Gemini Jr. and the Press and foil is on my wish list. any insights and such would be appreciated! Thanks!

Most thin dies can be used to heat foil with the foil press. Keep in mind that dies that aren't for foiling will just give you an outline of the die and won't have detail (basic shape dies could work) Foiling dies don't cut, just imprint the foil. With regular cutting dies you have to use the non cutting side to foil--so your foiled image will look like that side. Hope this makes sense

I forgot to mention that you can foil die cuts with the foil press. I have done this with word dies instead of cutting them out of foiled paper. I believe Sarah did this on one of the HSN presentations when the foil press came out.

I’m a little late to the party with this foil machine. Wondering if anyone can tell me what other foils (aside from this company) work with this specific machine.

I tried a pice of deco foil and it didn’t work… but I didn’t try different heat settings or time, so it could just be a matter of a different setting.

Can anyone offer some advice with this tool?

Deco foil needs toner to stick to, as well as heat and pressure.

You'll need a heat activated foil for this machine - I typically get mine from Spellbinders but I have some from Crafter's Companion as well.

There's more info on foils in this thread:
