Question A Couple of Questions about Old Olive 1/4" Grosgrain

I have been purchasing Grosgrain ribbon from Stamping Up for a few years.

The 1st Question, Is there always a 2" seam, when there is a seam? I had never run across an instance where Stampin Up had spliced together two ribbons on one roll.

The Second Question, Does Old Olive Grosgrain ribbon even match any of the Old Olive accessories?

Thanks in advance.

Yep...I have had a few rolls SU Ribbon with a seam in the middle somewhere.

And my Old Olive ribbons match pretty well...as well as ribbon usually does...it never seems just PERFECT since the light hits ribbon different than cardstock...but it always works well with my projects.

I've had one roll of SU ribbon with a seam taped together so far - it was my alpine originals ribbon, and the seam was after about the first three feet of the ribbon. Of course, SU gives you such a boatload of ribbon that many more of my rolls could have seams further in and I wouldn't know yet because I haven't used enough of them!

I think that Old Olive is one of the best matches SU has for ribbon. The color is very close. The one that I can definitely warn against is Certainly Celery. It looks nothing like the paper or the ink!

Since I recently changed my ribbon storage, I had to unwind all my spools.. and there were a lot of spools that were taped together. Not quite half, but I was surprised by how many-so I guess it's normal.

I find the Old Olive ribbon matches beautifully.

My Celery Ribbon and CS match perfectly! Maybe you got a bad roll? Or are you sure it's Celery Ribbon and not Moss or Sage? They are making too many green ribbons...sometimes I have picked one thinking it doesn't quite match but then I realize it wasn't the one I thought it was, since I don't keep them on the rolls.

I'm not an expert in ribbon, but is there a chance the color might have some variation because of dye lots? That being said, I love OO ribbon. Old Olive anything, really...
