corner punches

Hi there! Has anyone bought Stampin' Up's corner punches--specifically the one that goes with the Sale A Bration punch or the one that goes with the pinking hearts punch? I'm just curious if it is hard to line them up with the edge punches. Does that make sense? thanks, Amy

Well, 10 pieces of cardstock later and deep frustration, I finally got one ragged square. My friend still hasn't been able to get it to work after 12 sheets of cardstock. The only way to get the punches to work is from the back, even the corner punch. I tried using the corner punch face up, was sure the corner was "locked into place" but NO-O-O-O the corner was mangled or chopped off...gur-r-r-r! THEN, trying to tie in the border is a whole 'nother issue! Trying to punch over previous punched loops and getting them lined up while making sure the paper is lined up against the stop in the border punch and making sure to not chop off the previously-punch corner on the other end is a real pain.

Anyway, all of this is to say, check the other threads here on this same subject and go to youtube.com and check out the videos people have done. The other threads have some good website to check out also along with paper sizes that those more talented than I, have managed to punch.

Go to Dawn's Stamping Thoughts (Dawn Griffith, I think). She demos how to use the new loopy scallop (just my name). She makes it look so easy. I have a MS set that I tried yesterday and kept getting a little sliver of paper that I needed to clip off. You have to cut your c/s specific sizes to make the corners and sides cut nicely all the way around.

Guess with your reaction, I'll restrain myself from buying yet another scallop punch even if it makes a pretty edge. (maybe this is a 'just for now' pledge!)

I have some of the EK Success locking punches that I think punch nicely. Love the neat way they can be stored.

I got the scallop ones to work alright, but I want to throw the heart ones out the window!!!! It is impossible to do. I wish I would have NEVER bought them.!!!!!!

I had trouble with the scallop corner punch at a workshop. It seemed like everyone else was getting it okay.

Now I don't feel so bad ;)

My demo sent us a video to watch.. You do need specific paper sizes to make the edges match up. I haven't used the SU ones but the MS ones are easy to match up if you use the correct size paper.

There are several tutitorials for the scallop punch but I not able to find one for the heart border and corner punch. Have not been able to get them to line up. Does anyone have a tutitorial for the heart punches??
