Default Copic spica glitter...question

I bought a Copic Spica clear glitter pen but I am wondering if I got a dud? I bought it at an on-line store so I didn't get to test-drive one to see what it should look like

I barely see any flecks of sparkle when I go to use it and I don't want to keep going over one area because the hard tip breaks down the fiber of the paper...

I am wondering if I somehow got a dud of a pen?

By contrast I have a Stardust clear glitter pen and when I use that it is very sparkly...

I have a copic and stardust and there is a HUGE difference between the two. I had to go over my lines a couple times with the copic spica pen. The glitter is very fine and therefore very subtle. Try holding yours in the light and tilting to and fro to see if you notice any sparkle.

You might consider storing it horizontally for 24hrs, then try using it. Probably wouldn't hurt to give it a shake, too.

I have read that if you want to go over it again, wait until it is dry and then go over it. If you go over while it's wet you'll only spread the glitter that is there around, not add more.

I thought the same thing when I first got mine. Now that I've tried this technique I'm much happier with it. It's a subtle glitter though, not like Dazzling Diamonds IMO.

I read somewhere, NOT to shake it,
so I try to keep it horizontal.

It's most likely NOT a dud. The micro glass flakes inside the pen have settled- at the wrong end for writing. Store it POINT DOWN for a few hours to get the glitter headed in the right direction, then keep 'em flat. It is a very subtle shimmer, but you will definitely see a shimmer.
