Copic Markers in Edmonton

I just wanted to share that today I went to Delta Art and Drafting Supply and they have every color of the Copic Sketch markers and some of the original Copic markers in stock. Here is their website for their address:
http://deltaart.ca/

Willster007 12-20-2008 11:42 PM

And they are on sale until Jan 3... $6.23 for the sketch and they have a great selection.... he said the price will go up to $9.50 per marker after the New Year!

mokkabella 12-21-2008 08:02 AM

9.50 that is insane cheapes in vacouver is abou 6. but sometimes a coupon comes out and i get it 40% off wowza over there.

Willster007 12-21-2008 11:45 AM

mokkabella, where do you buy yours in Vancouver... I wonder if they would ship to Edmonton? 40% off that's a great price... I know I almost fell over when he said $9.50 per marker... insane!

its clipper street but, they have a 40% coupon every once and a while on one line. i think its instore only, thats the bad part i got email that this other lss is selling it 8bucks but this store i hardly shop at they are always more$$$$ than the other lss in town for the same stuff

i hear a lot of ppl order from here. i havent yet but thinking on getting some more that i dont have colours on... http://stores.stampinandscrappin.com/StoreFront.bok

Shana B 01-16-2009 08:29 PM

The Paint Spot on Whyte Ave currently has their copic sketch markers on for $7 each. Selection is limited. They are expecting more in but they'll be at a higher price - they are not sure what but they say it won't be $9.50. They will also be getting sets in. Kim, Honey, and the rest of the staff have been extremely helpful. I had questions on mica paints (my Christmas wish list item before I discovered copic markers in the New Year) and Kim was fantastic helping me over the phone! Please let me know if you find a cheaper way to order them in Edmonton.

jazzytobi 01-17-2009 12:07 AM

the LSS that I teach at in Langley (Precious Memories) carries copic ORIGINALS (the big ones) in almost every colour available for them (around 150) and they are $6.20. the cheapest i've seen anywhere in canada... they also carry the airbrush systems, and have all of the re-inkers etc...

kerryj106 01-17-2009 06:10 AM

Peggy at Paperworks is in Edmonton and just started carrying copics. $6.50 ea for the sketch and a free marker with every 15 purchased!

I've been doing the same thing as mokkabella, buying them in Clipper Street when they have 40% off one line. Unfortunately, Clipper got rid of their online store. Also, you can get them at a really good price when the sale is on at dickblick.com. Even with shipping from US they were cheaper than buying them here full price. One more Canadian source for Ciaos (they don't carry Sketch or Originals) is currys.com - they are $3.49 and they have free shipping over $35.

making memories with scrapbooking are selling them $8 a shot
no thanks...i did get a couple cause i just have to have those colours but its a lot compared to what clipper is selling them for. i think they pay their staff well as other stuff is way more expensive to and they dont have any sales at all.

Hey mokkabella

I keep hearing about Making Memories with Scrapbooking from others, I've never been there myself, where exactly are they? I love Clipper, but it is so far to go... I live in Kitsilano. I'm Impressed on Granville Island carries Originals, they are something like $6.50 or so, but then so many things there are overpriced. I think it is the same price in Scrapbook Warehouse. Opus is advertising online Sketch for $7.90. Way too much.

$6.50 and buy 15, get one free with her marker club and get 5% back into a craft fund for future purchases...

She sold out quick the first couple of orders, but is continually ordering more...

I went to Paint Spot as well. They are great there but only have less than 20 colors...

BTW, there is Copic cert class in Ontario but nothing out west yet... I emailed Copic to see if they had any dates planned for Western Canada. I will let you know once I hear.

Hope this helps!

Have Copic'ing!

Thanks! That's our ten year old maltese-poodle named Willie...

It's such a hard life being a dog, you know...

On a separate note, I really have to stop adding to my Copic Collection. I am at 120... I said I never buy the entire set but I'm past a third of the way there.... yikes!

How bad have you been ;) ??

And how about your puppy (in your avatar)? He's awfully cute, too!

Thanks, I don't feel so bad now... you have more than me :)

I can't help buying more... so addictive.

Do you or does anyone need the Copic Color-in Chart?
I found this chart extremely helpful to see what colors/blending options I have... and I take it whenever I go Copic shopping so that I don't buy any more doubles ;)

I went to Delta today and I got a set of 72 Copic sketches for $456.58 (+ $22.83 GST = $479.41). The original price was $683.50 before taxes. Fabulous selection!

That's $6.34 per marker.

The owner even let me substitute the 5 markers I had from the set of 72 with 5 markers I needed!!! SO coool! I will be shopping there again!!!!

Hey Amanda,
Glad to hear you are finding some great deals...lots to be had in Canada too:D

As far as certification....I'm doing an ALBERTA CERTIFICATION RUN this summer. I'm in Calgary on AUGUST 22nd and in Edmonton AUGUST 29th!

Would love to see some fellow SCSer's there!
I'm in the midst of prepping for it all right now:D

gayle3131 07-11-2009 07:08 PM

I love buying from Paperworks, the service has been fabulous. I was very happy to find a Canadian company with nice prices.

...and I'm bummed the class is on the 29th. My husband is taking me to Vegas for our 25th anniversary. I would have loved to take the course! Maybe next time.

Is Calgary filling up that fast? Those Calgarians - lol!

I almost fell off my chair when I got the email from Copics that we were registered...

My growing collection is around 240... (notice how I said "growing") and I also have the Copic airbrush compressor on its way so this class could not have come at a better time.

I attempted to use my hubbie's compressor (a smaller 1 gallon one) and almost airbrushed the wall when I jumped from when it turned on - lol!!! Do not recommend that....;)

So excited!!
