I've begun the process. I've unmounted about 30 of my SU sets and have about 200+ more to go! I rarely do anything for my business though... mainly hobby. I just decided that I no longer had room for all those clamshell boxes and storing cd cases is much easier!

I do one or two classes per month as an SU demo, and I have started to unmount my stamps. I don't think that it is really condoned, but I find that it actually makes people MORE interested, as they can see the image as they are stamping, and are less likely to go to another company. SU stamps really are great, and this is just another way to use them.

I have a lot of SU stamps but am not sure on how to go about removing from the wood and then what do I do with them. If someone could tell me what to do step by step - it would be greatly appreciated. I too would love to be able to see the stamp when I am stamping.
Thank you!

this is all new to me too and I'd be interested in learning the process. We're a family of 3 in a small condo so storage space is a premium. Thanks!

Betmey and kaloso05... some stamps peel off the wood blocks easily. SU stamps need to be warmed in the microwave for a few seconds. Go to the General Stamping forums and search for 'unmount'. You will find lots of threads with info on storage possibilities, etc.

There are a lot of threads here on how to unmount stamps. I don't do it, so I can't give a ton of advice, but do a search and you'll find a load of info.

If you like them unmounted.. I say go for it.. as a demonstrator, you just can't demo them that way. For personal use it's great.. course I like them on the wood and my best friend is the stamp-i-mi-jig..

happy stamping! Pam

For sets that were already mounted, I left them on. But whenever I buy new sets, I leave them off the blocks to begin with. Now I've got a ton of unused blocks taking up space because I don't know what to do with them!
