I use nothing but Neenah! I've tried Ga. Pacific, Papertry Ink,
So far I love Neenah the best!

Just ordered some, along with some other goodies!
thanks for the link. love it.

I noticed that some Cric carts are on clearance and it says: "discontinued and once sold out will no longer be available." Does that mean Provocraft has discontinued them too?? I want the Walk in My Garden and am wondering if I should order it now and not wait.

80# is the weight I use. They make gazillions of paper, but 80# is cover/cardstock weight.

Does anyone have any recommendations on which Copic Sketch markers to use to color pumpkins? I have quite a few to do for place cards and want to get the colors right.

Ideas anyone?

I purchase my Copics at Dick Blick's. I signed up for the preferred card so I get them for $5.39 each. Its not the cheapest but its within blocks of my house (I could walk if I had to) and I have a large selection at my finger tips!

Marianne's pumpkins are stunning, of course! Just thought I'd throw out what they use at Archiver's for their pumpkin demo of Copics: Y15, Y17 and chrome orange (I think that's YR07 but I forget now)...and they look very nice. They start with the dark instead of the lightest, but I don't know if that matters...

However, if you are using 'soft' paper like GP it is much easier to over-saturate that type of paper when coloring. In my mind, I imagine touching a felt tip marker to newsprint - you just cannot control where it is going to go. GP isn't as bad as newsprint, but it does pretty much set you up for failure.

Look for an Xpedx retail store. You can get a ream of Neenah Classic Crest in Solar White for about $30+. That is 250 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 and it's less than ten cents a sheet. I seem to have an auto-pilot track between my house and the one in West Hartford, CT.
Interesting, I use only the GP. I bought some Neenah but I think it costs a lot more (though it is nice and sturdy). I do know what you mean about the bleeding, but it's usually not a problem for me unless I do really tiny areas, or go over the colors a LOT. Maybe it's less humid here!

I like YR 04, YR 09, and Y38 for bright orange pumpkins............

if you like more subtle yellow/orange shades, I've also used Y 21, YR 24 & Y 26

Another nice combo is Y 32, Y 35, & Y 38

It just depends what you're coloring with them--eg bright green leaves, or fall leaves.......and what else you are coordinating..........

ahhhhhhhhhhh.....here in lies the beauty of copics!

I live in the South where it is very humid. I took Sally Lynn's advice a few months ago and tried it..Worked perfectly!

What are the best colors for denim blue jeans, I don't have any blues yet, so thought I would start with those. Subbing to this now, can't wait for time to read all of it.

Are Copic markers at each Hobby Lobby the same? What are some brick and mortar stores that carry them besides HL?

I don't know where you live, but in here in the Phoenix area there is no one but HL and even then there selection is puny...I think they maybe have 30 colors. I don't know if that is standard or not. I order mine from icopic.com

If I use my R29 red sketch Copic first then use another colour right next to it, the red ink bleeds into the other colour. The R29 is the only one I am having trouble with. I've tried letting it dry for up to 30 minutes and yet it still bleeds. Any suggestions anyone, besides using my R29 as the last colour???

Thanks!

As a general rule, you should always use the lighter colors first. If you use dark colors first, the dry paper can wick the ink over where you don't really want it. If the paper is already saturated with lighter ink, this won't happen.

So yeah, you pretty much have to use R29 last.

Sorry, not much help!

Hi Bellegirl, they are so adorable. The colors I used were C5 and C7 for the body, and a bit of the blender; and E00 for the face, going over the cheek area a couple of times. If I can do it, I'll attach a copy of my two (thus far). Enjoy.

Very adorable Chris! I keep thinking they should be brown but the gray looks fanatstic! Nice work.

Odd question for you, I noticed you are from Ojai, CA. Is that the town "Brothers and Sisters" show is based on? Have you seen it? Pretty cool.

Off to color

Hey, Sunnysf, yes, it's the same Ojai. I understand the show is supposed to be set in Pasadena, but goes all over southern CA. I haven't seen the show...too busy making cards!

I just got tons of Gina K's Luxury White card stock and it is the absolute best! I was emailing Suzanne Dean about what paper was best for digital stamps as I am on a DT. She recommended Gina's and I could not be happier now. It is rather pricey but I feel that I would enjoy coloring more if I had the right materials to work with! Thanks again Suzanne!

I am soooooooooo excited. I just got signed up to take the Copic Markers class in San Antonio on December 12! I can't wait. Sally Lynn MacDonald is going to be teaching the classes. I'm taking 2 that day. Gonna be so much fun.

Default Just received my new Copics.

I live in Canada and just received my order from Oozak. I ordered on Thur and received them on Monday. They have great service and excellent prices.
Now I have to learn how to use them. Fun, fun, fun.

Make sure and check out the Copic Dealer Locator - it gets updated all the time. I love convenience of online; but I like to look at the markers all together too.

I'll be down your way in May, 2010. Concord / Charlotte area. Too soon for details yet - but 5/15 weekend is the timeframe.
