Two of those on the 16th are pretty close to me, so that might be the better option!! I'm so looking forward to meeting you and learning in person. I love my markers, and your blog, and have so much fun playing. I'm not an artist at drawing, but love using my stamped images. I can hardly wait for your trip!

I have almost every one of the colors except for some of the grays and fluorescents, so, I hate to spend that amount to go over a lot of stuff I'm already doing and know. Just not sure I'd get my full money's worth out of it.... has anyone here done the certification after already using the copics for quite awhile?

You will DEFINITELY learn something new. Marianne is an amazing instructor and even if you already know the techniques she teaches, it is a great time to refine those skills and ask questions. She also has lots of little tricks and tid-bits to share. It is well worth the money.

Also, if you take the class you can become certified to teach Copic classes if that is of interest.

Even if I weren't teaching Copic classes... the certification class would have been worth taking.

Go for it!

Thanks for your feedback, Colleen; I appreciate the insight, having "been there, done that"!! That just might be the way I go......

And "ashjoy", well done for your first card, lovely job and with only three markers!!! Watch out though, now you're going to want more...hee hee hee.

Default Marianne--what's happening with Scrapfest?

Is the certification class going to be open to outsiders in Mpls in conjunction with scrapfest? When will further information be available?

I am so bummed!!! My DH surprised me and bought an air compressor for us. When he told me I immediately ordered the ABS3. It came yesterday. I played with it and my copics in my craft area. My DH comes downstairs and looks at my craft desk and says it can't stay the way it is. He needs everything cleared off so he can airbrush with paints. I said that I didn't know I was sharing my craft desk with him. I normally leave the essentials on my desk. He wants it all moved. I don't want to share my craft space. He did mentioned that maybe I could get my own compressor so I didn't have to share. But he would still need to use my space to airbrush.

Oh I would be so mad! I believe if my hubby told me that, we'd be fighting and we never fuss! lol..
There are just certain things you don't mess with and craft desks are among them! That would be like taking away one of his "manly" toys!
Wishing you the best!

Wow! That would NEVER fly in my house! But, since my hubby is not handy in the least, I never have to worry! I have a compressor and I don't think he has noticed it and I know he would have no clue what it was/nor what it did! LOL! Unfortunately, that being said, everything handy (and everything else - laundry, cooking, cleaning, taking care of pool, homework, getting kids anywhere they need to go, - you get the point - I do it all!) is left up to me! He has his own office and I have mine. He comes up and hangs out with me at night in my office.

Oh, Kathi, that stinks! I would be beyond bummed, all the way to steamed. That would be like me going out in the garage and taking over DH's workbench. Not gonna happen!

So Kathi, what do you think you will say to him? What about another desk that he can work on, that might also be cheaper than another compressor, then he might leave your space to you.

I am thinking about purchasing the Copic Markers and am doing some research before investing in them. I know nothing about them, so am trying to educate myself and not make a mistake. Someone said that Oozak has the best price, but when I go to their website it says that Neopiko is not as good as COPIC. Is that their brand? Can anyone explain?

Thanks.

I believe that the NEOPIKO is just another Japanese brand but I am not sure. They are not made by oozak, that much I do know. Also, I don't know if they are refillable like the COPICS are.

** If you decide to order from www.oozak.com, just be sure to REGISTER first. That is the way that you get the discount on the markers, etc. For example, if you register, the copic sketch are $4.25. If you do not register, they are going to be $4.87.
Oozak also has free shipping with a $50 order and they ship very fast.

Neopiko markers are a Japanese product. They are targeted for hobbyists, and beginers. They have a similar feel (nibs) of Copics, but they are not as good, hold less ink, plus they are not refillable. Not made by oozak.

I have three of them and for the price they are good markers, but not a replacement for my Copics.

I have been using Oozak for some time now. I love the service I get from them. Customer Service is Wonderful!! I've never had a problem with them.

I also have some of the Neopiko. They are good for those that Can't afford the Price of the COPIC markers.

I like the way they color. I haven't been able to tell that much different's in the coloring.

http://Oozak.com is just a Place to purchase these Markers.

That's True they are NOT made my Oozak. They are sold there.

And for a $1.00 a piece one can not go wrong.

Question class

A lady at our local craft store went to a certification class, so she decided to have a class, it was a big joke she read off what Marianne had told them and charged us, it wouldn't of been bad but you can learn more on-line. I have a business and wanted to take a class so I could teach because there is such a demand, but the classes are never in our parts of the world, I live in michigan and florida in the winter and most of them are in utah and california. Does anyone know where I can get some help??

Does anyone know where I can get some help??
Send Marianne an email. I think she sets up the Certification classes by demand.

Smile Buying Copic Markers

This is my 1st time doing this. Not sure what I'm doin, but I was reading suggestions of where to buy Copic markers (just got back from a class). I noticed that someone suggested oozak.com so I checked it out. I was so happy with their price of the Copic sharpies. They were only $4.45, the cheapest I've seen during my searches.

There are no such thing. Copic and Sharpie are two different companies. Maybe she meant Copic Sketch, as those are one of the styles that Copic markers do manufacture.

I want to go to the Atlanta one but have no clue how to register.
Could you help? I signed up for info on upcoming classes on your blog but never received anything!
Oh I am so excited! Just hoping I can find out how to sign up before it's sold out!
Hugs,
Barbara

Atlanta hasn't opened yet, don't worry! And as for OCL classes, in So. Cal I'll be doing OCL/Copic classes or make 'n takes. It depends on which location as to what I'm doing. I wish I knew more what I was doing, but those details are up to the sales manager so I just show up and color what they tell me to color and teach what they tell me to teach. I'm a slave, I tell ya, a slave
